It amazes me to watch a Coyote or Fox hunt with their ears. You can see them lock in on a vole with great concentration, move their ears for a precise location... and pounce.

A friendly herd of curious cows lives adjacent to Castle Fraser, and comes to the fence to say hello. I'm guessing that they may be polled herefords. I learned that aIl bovines have mandatory registration in the UK and their movement is tracked from birth to death with ear tags and individual passports to control spread of disease. I love how this looks like an enormous large-headed robot walking toward me! Night photo of the starry skies enveloping one of the Big Ears of the Owens Valley Radio Observatory, run by Caltech since 1958, located in beautiful Owens Valley CA. This looks like a decommissioned radio telescope. It was not operating and has peeling paint. I feel like in the last several years, every time I photograph the Milky Way in Owens Valley during the summer, there are numerous fires. I lit the radio telescope with a ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device during the exposure. Special thanks to Caltech.

Mule Ears framed between an Ocotillo from the mule Mars Spring Trail. This is not by best result from a focus stack. There was a slight breeze which was causing the ocotillo to sway. It took a lot of time in post just to get to this stage. Perhaps it would have been better to leave the ocotillo out of focus, but here it is. Big Bend National Park, Texas, USA, May 2016
