lookit these ears! it's been a crazy weekend. lots of running
around. i was off work yesterday and busy doing errands ... stella!
was right there with me the whole time. keeping me company and
keeping me out of trouble. mostly. we went to petco, the vet, over
to mike's house for a little bit (his roommate, gabe, might be moving
in with his girlfriend. wink wink. more on that later ...)
i think she know that i have to go to work today. she's on the couch
giving me that 'look' -- what she doesn't know is that my friend
sandra will be taking her out for a long walk at noon. i hope they
have fun. i want her to do it again. BIG peace of mind for me. i
don't think i'll walk her this morning. she seems to HATE going out
into the cold. maybe if i hurry and get her sweater finished, we can
go out tomorrow morning. besides, she's happy enough with her wee-
wee pads.
of course if i move in with mike, well he goes home at lunch you
know. that will be SO good. we'll see what happens ...
ok. i'm off to work. sigh.

Haven't uploaded in a while, i know i know (almost a month!). I have been taking pictures but im not extrordinarly happy with any of them. Wednesday I fly for Cambodia (excited!) so I have to take some good stuff there. And its almost christmas and vacation and hopefully a little snow :) I wish you all a happy "before-the-holidays" mood =)

So, I'm sure you might be wondering the significance of this shot.
A - I finally got my glasses back today. I had to get them repaired after I stepped on them a few weeks ago. :(
B - My ear, after tomorrow, shall be gauged. I'm starting with either a 16 or a 14 gauge and working my way from there.
Walden had ear mites in those big ears when he was a baby. And then lots of yucky wax that my sister cleaned out for me. Thanks, Emily!
This is the first attempt of sculpture. I wanted to branch out with my art work and try new mediums. I chose to sculpt an ear because its important to be familiar with human anatomy and the ear is also full of interesting shapes.
I had some serious ear defenders on (the type that suck your eardrums out from the tightness of the seal) and when I was at the distance this guy is these top fuelers were still incredibly loud! I could literally feel the exhaust notes vibrating my chest, like a series of rapid fire punches! No wonder he's got his fingers in his ears!
Taken July 07 at a drag race day (Mini Nationals) with Neal 'Retrophoto' Reed at the Shakespeare County Raceway. Got waylaid with wedding work and never got round to sorting the pics. Remembered they were there though, so here's some of the best.
