December 2009 – Formación Digital has received the XIV Premio Aljarafe Empresarial, a prize that Abengoa Solar e Innovación Cosmética were also in the running for. The prize that was awarded by the Association of Businessmen of Aljarafe was presented by the President of the Sevillian delegation, Fernando Rodriguez Villalobos, to our General Director, José Ignacio Ustaran, at the auditorium of the new town hall in Gelves.

Durante los días 21 y 22 de noviembre ha tenido lugar la tercera reunión del Comité Directivo del proyecto en la sede la Fundación Cibervoluntarios en Madrid. Dos días de trabajo para sentar las claves de un Modelo Pedagógico teniendo en cuenta cuartos factores clave a testear durante los futuros talleres que se van realizar en diferentes centros educativos: Identidad digital, relaciones online, ciberseguridad y competencias adquiridas. Estas actividades se van a realizar durante un programa piloto con la creación futura de una plataforma de e-learning de código abierto como base.
El estudio previo realizado en los 5 países participantes con más de 2.000 participantes del sector educativo, arroja datos muy interesantes:
• Aunque casi la mitad de los menores entre 12 y 14 años posee un smartphone, solo un 28% reconoce adicción al uso del móvil: el 62% no conoce términos como “Nomofobia” (síndrome de dependencia del smartphone)
• Un alarmante 30% de los encuestados no ha notificado a ninguna persona mayor de su entorno (educadores o familiares) cuando han sufrido acoso online (Cyberbullying).
• En relación a las posibilidades del uso del teléfono móvil como herramienta educativa, un 72% de jóvenes entre 12 y 19 años, afirma que se muestra a favor de usar un modelo que lo incluya como parte de clase.
Los resultados obtenidos con las respuestas de los educadores/profesorado también arrojan algunos datos a tener en cuenta:
• el 63% de los encuestados usa herramientas de e-learning para completar sus clases
• el 70,7% usa el el smartphone como método para búsquedas de información online
• La herramienta más usada es Google forms, seguida de Moodle y Survey Monkey
• El obstáculo más frecuentemente mencionado para usar el smartphone como herramienta educativa es que no todos tienen las herramientas adecuadas para aplicarlo como Método Pedagógico.
Muy pronto compartiremos con todos vosotros los resultados de este estudio conjunto y los avances del proyecto de cara a 2017.

The new center is an innovative pilot educational program which teaches computer skills to inmate students. Ingram State Technical College purchased 60 digital tablets from Edovo, which specializes in the learning devices for prisons. The tablets, purchased for $25,000 through a request for proposals, include access to adult education courses and other learning content through a secured server. The tablets cannot access the Internet.
Tutwiler's E-Learning Center includes seven desktop computers tied to the same closed network as the tablets and a larger "smart board" for a classroom type setting. The Ingram State Technical College Foundation gave almost $60,000 in private funds to outfit the E-Learning Center in what was previously a classroom for a commercial sewing course.
