Interesting bands on the pectoral fins; and, my strobes reflecting in its eyes.
Check out my really funny blog blog about underwater photography & life and my book about marine life, diving and all things Pacific.
Looking in at the loading area at Sunrise Cooperative in Monroeville, OH. The tiny little GE 25-T switcher is dwarfed by not only the elevator/silo structures but also by the 100-ton hoppers it shuttles around. I believe this to be on the stub of a former B&O branch up to Sandusky from Mansfield.

Necturus punctatus from North Carolina. This is the smallest species within its family (Proteidae), which includes other waterdogs and the mudpuppies. These are entirely aquatic salamanders, which is evidenced by the fact that even adults retain feathery gills throughout their lives. These salamanders live within creeks and streams, often deep within leaf litter/detritus (leaf packs).
Widebody FedEx Airbus A310 dwarfed by the massive cumulous clouds while lining up for approach into Pittsburgh Airport
Wildflowers on Table Mountain near Oroville, CA. I got about as close as I possibly could to this flower with the lens that I'm using. Most of the close-up shots in the Table Mountain wildflower series are hand held, which allows me to get as low and as close as possible.
Dwarf willow only an inch or two tall, creeping along the tundra on the Chilkat Pass, British Columbia Canada.
US penny shown for scale. This guy was tiny, but chock fulla detail and loads of character. A joy to paint!
This young Dwarf Mongoose came out to greet the early crowd on Saturday. His/her parents were close by keeping an eye the youngster.
Dwarf Dogwood (Cornus canadensis), also known as Bunchberry, is very common in the Whitehorse area of southern Yukon. Right now, the forest floor is resplendant in their blooms.

This rarely photographed and shy animal was seen off the coast of St Lucia in 2016. We watched it 'logging' on the surface for over a minute before it submerged beneath the waves. Wikipedia says "Most of what is known of the whale comes from beached individuals, as sightings in the ocean are rare."

Cute Hippeastrum that's under 24cm/10" in height with 3 flower spikes. The bloom is 10cm/4" across: I wonder if it is a 'Sonatini' cultivar, like say, 'Sweet Sixteen' ?

Worst Outfit in WOW. Honestly, I've had people stop me in IF and be like, "Your toon is hideous, dude."
