This is from a hike we did up on the Cedar Rock Trail in DuPont State Forest. We were up there looking at petroglyphs when I spotted this rather large and colorful grasshopper. I love his eyes!

This the the middle water fall at Triple Falls near Brevard, NC. It's located in the one of North Carolina's two state forest: DuPont State Forest.

In preparation for a field trip to DuPont State Forest (Transylvania County, North Carolina) later in the week with some out-of-state friends, I decided to go up there to scout out the area, a bit. I ended up finding a good variety of wildflowers to photograph -- some of which had already finished blooming in South Carolina.
