Here is a large plate of Knödel that was served with Christmas dinner last year. Knödel are a special type of German dumpling. They are made from potatoes and bread crumbs, and are boiled in a napkin to give them their round shape. You can see a pair of them in my Weihnachtsessen photo.

This is probably one of those moments where photos don't exhibit the yumminess of the food. Dumpling viscera! Awesome!
Chive dumplings hot out from the steamer. The crowd favourite at Soon Lee Restaurant, in Jawi, Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia.
Thanks to Yvonne Ang for lending me her DSLR for the weekend :-)
I love Nepali food!
On the walk from Panauti to Namo Buddha in Nepal, we came across a “restaurant”: a dark hut with rickety benches outside. Inside – in the gloom – a husband and wife team were making over-sized momos, or Nepali-Tibetan-style dumplings.

Homemade dumplings! Jiaozi are a kind of Chinese dumpling, common to China and other parts of East Asia. They have a life as future potstickers.
After a tough climb up the Dumpling Mountain trail, we set up camp late on Tuesday night, July 14, 2009. It is 11 PM and still light. Could not find level ground on tundra, but what a view overlooking Naknek Lake and Brooks Lake ! Lots of mosquitos and "see me not's". Tomorrow morning its down to the National Park campground with electric fence. No bears around this camp, but could spot some bears down at the river with binoculars.
Here you can see the servers preparing another bamboo steamer for service. As you can see, by steaming the dumpling in these stacks, the "chimney" of bamboo baskets trap the heat and the moisture quite well - even after they've been taken off the boiling water.
Only had ham & cheese on hand but I was experimenting with flour/water (per the Amateur Gourmet's post about dumplings*) and didn't really expect it to work. Guess what? It worked! Only 3, but they were great.
made these 'semi-veg' dumplings for dinner the other night - the dumpling filling was made of cooked julienned carrots, turnip, minced dried shrimps, chopped garlic and parsley (stir-fried with some oyster sauce, soy sauce and lots of white pepper) - you can spy the filling set out separately in the top plate in the background
cooked in ikan bilis (dried anchovies) broth - this is comfort food for me and yet healthy :-)

It was...ok, maybe. Not good enough to compel me to return. But I only tried the dumplings, so I can't speak for the other stuff.
I made this adorable little zipper pouch for my 7 year old niece's (very belated) birthday. It was very simple and quick to make. If only I had more zippers in my stash, I'd bust out several of these for holiday gifts.

Vegan kimchi dumplings. They have a bit of a strong flavor, and are ok on their own, but would be great with the right dip/sauce.
