As I have been renovating my kitchen recently, I have been making a LOT of trips with junk/rubble etc to the municipal dump. At the risk of sounding weird I have to say I LOVE going...?! It's a fascinating place... watching all the people coming and going and what people dump...this picture is of the the hut of the man who runs things. It's great isn't it (er and I don't mean the quality of the photograph!!)...a coolbox, a "dog" on look out, a mirror to check your hair is just so and a couple of patriotic flags...!!

A trip to the dump today did not exactly lighten my mood but we did clear a lot of stuff out of the garage, even if it was mainly cardboard. Still the garage looks empty now, no doubt the mice will make it a mess again shortly.

Because so many walls and so many roofs were damaged in the quake, these three parking lots at the Citizens' Multipurpose Ground have been repurposed as a dump.
