This is an improvised DJ/live set using only the Elektron Octatrack, Machinedrum and Monomachine. Everything is done live. No additional effects or mixers were used.
The Octatrack plays back time stretched loops and samples. At the same time it sends out MIDI clock to the Machinedrum and the Monomachine. The audio outputs from these two units are connected to the two input pairs of the Octatrack. This makes the Octatrack function as a powerful mixer and effects unit in addition to being a sound source.

My brother Dan and I are in his studio co-producing a hip-hop rendition of my song 'Caroline' the old-skool way... using his MPC-2000 XL drum machine. We're jackin' our drum hits from a vinyl 45 by The Silvers.

David and the bass wiz from the PreSonus session band, performing at the Toontrack booth for demoing the EZdrummer plug-in.
On a side note, I never realized that left-handed bass players used the same order for the strings as right-handed musicians do. I.e., in this photo, the E-string on this guy's bass is at the bottom. Odd, that (says this bass guitar newbie of six months).
