I went back and got it with a little afternoon sun this time, and used a DJI Air 2s with an ND filter. Detailed directions for access can be found on the Northwest Waterfall Survey.

Scientists say there are many health benefits to going outside. Reduced stress levels. Improved mood. Lower blood pressure. I believe it!

Real life often turns out differently than the plan I had in my head. Sometimes it’s painful to adjust. But I try to remember that life’s curve balls don’t have to make life worse, just different. Life is still beautiful and amazing!

Morning light at Riffe Lake, Washington. Taken at the east end of the lake, near the ghost town of Kosmos.

An alternative composition using the light shining on the distant mountains defying the clouds hanging around closer to the camera.

Lone Tree Lake, located southeast of Randle, Washington in Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

Sunrises change moment by moment. Different colors and shapes. Each beautiful in its own way. Life changes day by day too. It’s up to us to find the beauty in each season. It’s waiting there for us.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. -John 16:33

One of my favorite views from the air is a forest of pine trees with snow in their branches.

For me, more than pumpkin spice or Halloween decorations, it’s scenes like this that really define October for me. Warm colors, cool temperatures. A time of transition as summer passes the baton to winter.

This is where the Cowlitz and Cispus rivers come together at Lake Scanewa, Washington State.

Symphony of the Seas is one of the biggest cruise ships in the world, with a capacity of 9000 passengers and crew… a floating city! Taken with Apollo, my drone.

Gail Falls, also known as Eric's Falls, in Washington State in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, located on the Cispus River between Cat Creek and Adams Creek where NF-21 rises above the river and the forest obscures the view.

I have loved my summer among the mountains and the pines. But I’m also looking forward to an autumn amid the red rock cliffs. I’m grateful to live where there is so much variety.

This glowing, fiery sunset was such a gift to witness after so many weeks of heavy, dark winter weather. I hope it brightens your day! Have a great Friday!

Quail Creek Reservoir is a glowing turquoise oasis in the desert. Beautiful and a great spot for cooling off in the water on a hot day.

When I visit the Great Salt Lake I try to visualize what it would look like if the bays and inlets were back to a healthy water level. The lakeshore is pretty all the time, but I hope there are better days ahead for our beautiful, beleaguered, salty friend.

A bird's eye view of the Dutch woodlands during a foggy sunrise.

It only took about two and half years and numerous flights, but I think this is the first droneshot I took that I thought was worth processing and publishing (:

The hottest day of the year in Sweden offered an amazingly intense sunset...

The red rock of Southern Utah is nature’s perfect playground. Looking forward to taking my family back to play there again soon.

At 2400 metres, under the last ice of the Glacier Blanc this stream of melt water appears. 600 metres lower it joins the meltwater from the Glacier Noir and heads down the valley.
