Good morning to the Great Salt Lake and the wonderful spring runoff that’s pouring in! And good morning to all of you!

Doc and I recently had one nice sunny morning to visit Slana Slough on the Tok Cutoff Road. With all of the insects gone, and very little wind - Doc decided to send his drone up for one last shot of the area before old man winter settles in. The Mentasta Mountains in the background - looked especially nice topped with a fresh coating of termination dust.

Spent a week in the mountains of northern Utah with no internet last week. It was not bad at all!

Aerial image: The Royal Liver Building, one of the most recognisable landmarks in Liverpool and part of the city’s iconic UNESCO World Heritage waterfront. The building, completed in 1911, was designed by architect Walter Aubrey Thomas and constructed as the headquarters of the Royal Liver Assurance Company.

Standing 98 metres (322 ft) tall, it was one of the first buildings in the world to be constructed using reinforced concrete, and for a time it was the tallest building in Europe. Its twin clock towers dominate the skyline, each topped by a mythical Liver Bird, the symbol of the city. According to local legend, one bird looks out to sea to protect the sailors, while the other watches over the city.

The Royal Liver Building forms part of Liverpool’s “Three Graces” at the Pier Head, alongside the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building, reflecting the city’s maritime heritage and Edwardian grandeur. Today, it remains a powerful symbol of Liverpool and is used as office space and an events venue, with tours offering access to the clock towers and panoramic views across the River Mersey.

I took a trip with with my fellow drone guy, @pfunk_photography. We wanted to capture a crazy phenomenon caused by all of the storms this winter. What you’re looking at isn’t the Great Salt Lake or a lake at all. It’s the Bonneville Salt Flats covered by as much as a foot and a half of water! And yes, those are paddle boarders down there on the surface. I’ve seen a little water on the salt flats before but I’ve never seen them covered like this! So much water! Fans of Speed Week are going to be really disappointed this year. But we’ve got a hot new paddle boarding destination!

Ynys Gored Goch, sometimes Ynys Gorad Goch, is a small island in the Menai Strait between Gwynedd and Anglesey in north Wales.

Not a metropolis but a very tiny village in the very south of the Netherlands. In the back you can see Belgium, it's only a few minutes away. Shot on a lovely day in may when we visited this beautiful region again.

One more throwback shot from the Great Salt Lake to finish off the week. I hope everyone (in the US at least) enjoys a great Memorial Day weekend!

Gunlock Falls is likely Utah’s most photographed waterfall right now. I had to go visit it for myself because of what it represents. This waterfall only flows when Gunlock Reservoir completely fills, water flows over the spillway and onto the red rocks below. This hasn’t happened in years, but thanks to our amazing winter, the falls are flowing and there is precious water in the desert once again.
