The drone is flown via a cellphone app. Pretty poor quality images (640x480) but who cares, it's the thought that counts!

Former NS 7202 was built as Conrail 4103 in January 1996. Here we are just short of 26 years later and the Conrail Cadillac is being parted out. The huge 20-710 engine and alternator are gone already.
This 6 m-wingspan unmanned aircraft is supported in mid-air within ESA’s Hertz radio-frequency test chamber, as if suspended in flight, to check it can maintain contact with its controller through satellite links.
The drone, developed by Barnard Microsystems Ltd of the UK, has been fitted with a steerable array antenna in its wing to keep contact with the Inmarsat constellation.
This is the focus of ESA’s ESTARR project – Electronically Steered Antenna Array in the Wing of a Remotely Piloted Aircraft – which is investigating the feasibility of steerable low-cost array antenna in the drone’s wings.
Designed for oil, gas and mineral prospecting, pipeline surveying and border patrols, the drone will spend most of its time operating far from its controller, often in areas with no communications infrastructure. To ensure the legally mandated link between the remote pilot and the drone, a satellite data relay service must be used.
The array must electronically sweep its beam rapidly to counteract any movement of the drone, and maintain the all-important control link with space, without any aerodynamic or electronic interference with the functioning of the drone itself.
Testing was performed in ESA’s metal-walled Hybrid European Radio Frequency and Antenna Test Zone at the Agency’s technical centre in the Netherlands, shut off from all external influences for radio testing. Its internal walls are studded with radio-absorbing ‘anechoic’ foam pyramids, preventing any distorting radio signal reflections, while also absorbing noise.

For those who are following my journey of trying different drones to narrow down what will meet my photo quality expectations… I tried both the DJI Mini 4k and Mini 3 before graduating up to the new mini 5 Pro with its 1 inch 50mp sensor. My normal camera gear is a Nikon z8 and z7ii so I have gotten used to hi res sharp photos. The lower quality 12mp sensors on the first 2 drones (noting a firmware upgrade on the Mini 3 provided sorta 48mp) were “underwhelming” but I am very happy with the Mini 5 pro. Great sharpness, color, and noise control. I printed this image at A3 size and it’s clear, crisp, and sharp as a tack. The shadows retain good depth and detail. Take a look at the water in the lower left corner - it didnt just go to black, it retained just a bit of blue reflection from the sky. Amazing. Note that this was taken at 1/800 sec on a very blustery day. Also, if you zoom in and look at the horizon you will see some mountains- that’s appx 75 miles away.
I hope others will benefit from my full month of trial, error, and experimentation. If you’re shooting with a Mini 3, don’t waste a lot of time trying the “pseudo 48mp” option - it doesn’t really improve final results. Stick to 12mp and image stacking - you will get reasonable resolution and okay dynamic range by exposure bracketing at +/- 0.7. There is a lot of info on this out there by many who understand it better than I do.
The drone spooked some American Coots as it flew over and then found someone who was hoping they would come a little closer.

I spotted this old cantilever signal bridge from the road and tried to get a shot. It didn't turn out quite like I hoped but it's not bad.

well its been a while... so i have been trying to get back into lego and its hard with being buisy. i will try post as much as i can. so i have never made and posted a drone before lets see how it goes.
This video is about the place where I came from. The place where I was born and raised and spent 28 years of my life. This is a compilation of aerial footages during my various drone sorties there. Due to time and weather constraints, I only managed to capture fewer sceneries than what I had in my wishlist.
