Lots of bottles on the street during weekend, after drinking the whole bottle the owner of these bottles forgot all about them.

Pronounced "maa taa", is "a traditional South American caffeine-rich infused herbal drink. It is made by soaking dried leaves of the yerba mate in hot water and is traditionally served with a metal straw (bombilla) in a container typically made from a calabash gourd (also called the mate), but also in some areas made from a cattle horn (guampa). A very similar preparation, mate cocido, removes some of the plant material and sometimes comes in tea bags. Today, mate is sold commercially as "yerba mate" in tea bags and as bottled iced tea." In this last form it is sold all over the United States as a competitor to Red Bull and other energy drinks.

I loved mega man as a kid. Now his face is on cheap energy drinks. Im just glad to see his face though.
We had a bookgroup curry night tonight in the city centre, so a few of us met after work and went for drinks in Royal Exchange Square before dinner. It was a lovely summer evening and we felt so decadent sitting in the sunshine with a cold drink, watching the world go by. Every day for two weeks we have has blue sky and sunshine at least once a day. Not that I'm counting...
Unfortunately I had my camera on auto and it over exposed horribly, So I had to process quite heavily. I really don't think it's used to all this sunshine!
(Oh, the meal was very nice too - good food and great conversation)
This drink is a modification of a drink called "balalaika" from our cocktail book "The Bartender's Guide to Cocktails & Mixed Drinks" by Stuart Walton.
Original recipe:
1 and 1/2 shots vodka
3/4 shot Cointreau
3/4 shot lemon juice
My variation:
3/4 shot Chambord instead of Cointreau
a splash of soda
tiny lemon slice garnish
It was quite good.
Practicing my drink photography. One 580EX strobe to camera left, and one on camera right behind the Jack bottle.

Your basic drinking fountain(or as they call it in Wisconsin, a "bubbler"). Except this one is a bit weird. It's as if the basin has a choke hold on the poor spout. "Alright, spew out some water or I'll break your arm!" This is at the ballpark behind Parkside Junior High in Normal, Illinois. Canon FTb, Tri-X film. I really like the little Crystal Light to go tubes of drink mix. The raspberry lemonade flavor turns into a hot pink glowing drink. Still very yummy!
Photo taken using the camera embedded in my monitor! I will take something using a real camera later today, I promise!
