My sister and I had our first drinks together the other night, since she turned 21 in March! Crazy. How is she old enough to order that huge margarita??? hehe.
Drink Chero Cola
There's None so good
In bottles 5 cents
Chero Cola became Royal Crown Cola in 1934, so this sign is at least 73 years old! This is located along Main Street in Shelbyville, TN in the town Square. it's painted on the building which is home to Pope's Cafe.
Just a few months ago, I think there used to be a building here which would have prevented me from taking this picture. Now only the frame of the building remains, including the 2 beams in the picture. Before then, to view this ad, you would have to do so from an angle, which I have seen online several places, such as JimmyWayne22's photo Here.
"There's none so good" could be an insult if you think about it.

I pulled myself out of a horrified stupor to take a picture of my (first) election night drink. White Russians were my weapon of choice.
this photo was taken by the window with a piece of white paper at the back. the sunlight shined at the glass to give that bright spot at the bottom of the glass..
no major photoshop were done, except croping out some unnecessary imgines
ps, this is just a food dye not real blood ;p
The sensation I find interesting: while drinking from a large glass you get your view blocked for a few moments by this almost kaleidoscopic scenery that is affected by the taste of the stuff you are pouring down your throat. The glass also amplifies the sound of breathing through your nose during the long and thirsty gulps. So to say the least it is a pretty multisensual experience. And to think about it - all this can interrupt a mundane social situation and you can secretly enjoy those little escapes with this sensational optical device.

Pyrops whiteheadi & Cockroaches - Danum Valley, Malaysia
My previous photo in my photostream shows ants interacting with a leafhopper in order to obtain honeydew. So I thought it would be interesting to follow up with a different example of the same behavior. This interaction is a bit more unusual as this time its a roach with a lantern bug! There is also actually a second roach but its not visible from this angle. Honeydew is a sugary liquid secreted by certain insects. I have known for a long time ants harvested it from aphids, but I was surprised to see roaches interacting with other bugs for it and I was shocked to learn even geckos will do this! In terms of the ants its mutualism as the ants benefit from the food and the insects they recieve it from benefit from the protection of the ants. A similar interaction has been suggested between the geckos and lanternbugs as the gecko may eat the competing insects. However I'm not sure what benefit if any the lanternbug receives from interaction with cockroaches.
