The Flickr Lounge-Textures
This lovely Blue Mud Dauber wasp stopped for a refreshing drink at the birdbath. With it being in the '90s so much I've been cleaning and refilling the birdbath every day.
It's freakin hot out there today. Even the insects need a drink.
This could also be a poor attempt at getting a selfie in the drop of water in his mouth.

Another of the shots I took using a circular polarizer. The lighting was low and I had the ISO up with my 70-300mm f/4-5.6... cropped / (selective) natural light.

Well not yet summer here as it is still a little cool and we had the obligatory rain showers, today! Anyway, after my visit to the gym and nice long drink of fresh orange juice went down very nicely.

Burning drink on table. Red paper card on the wall behind. SB-25 at 1/16 from under the tabe against the red paper and the white wall around. 50mm at f5.6 and 15 seconds.

One last cooking class and the Vietnamese food tour officially ended. It was great being outside and in the relative cool of a rooftop bar, as the cooking school had gas burners which prevented the fans from being turned on.

This is the facade of the pub (place of beer and wine...) behind Knautia in that puddle reflection shot. Here it is reflected in Marine Lake from the 'Danger Deep Water' vantage point....high saturation of original colours and contrast used to full effect here.
...and who was it that said cats don't like water? Can you see a black cat leaping across the middle of the field of vision here...? :-)

IMPORTANT NOTES: This set was sold with a mini toilet, serving tongs (aka tweezers), and a bunch of faux ice, which I did not picture here.
PERSONAL FUN FACT: Jeff's Happy Hour, our resident dolly bar, just wasn't all that happy what with the lack of alcohol. Colleen and I only had acquired a few alcoholic beverages from various mini doll food/drink lots from Amazon. It certainly wasn't enough to keep the bar fully stocked. We had our eyes pealed on Amazon for listings that would feature all, or mainly booze. Hey, our plastic friends work hard...they deserve to kick back and relax too (it's super taxing being beautiful and loved all day)! Since we do Amazon Vine reviews, in exchange for free products, we ended up finding the perfect lot for free. These are marketed as party favors, or for dolls (which is how I found them, as they were in the toy section of Vine products). This set even came with a mini toilet and faux ice, as mentioned above. The toilet seemed super random...but I guess Colleen's suggestion that it was a joke about hangovers made sense. I should also note that this set came with a TON of fake ice...it literally made the whole shipping envelope heavy. I have no need for so much, since only a little is required for photos. It does look cool though, I have to admit.
While not all these drinks are to scale with one another, they do work for Barbie sized dolls. The cans are a bit too large, but I knew that ahead of time (we have soda cans that are the same mold, and are patently too cumbersome for dolls to wield realistically). I like that everything is branded with authentic labels! It makes setting up our dolly bar feel more real. While my sister and I don't drink ourselves (which is why I don't even recognize some brands as being alcoholic half the time), we love having these props for our plastic friends. There is an equal amount of each brand/style of drink, which is also great for photography. That way, when one of my dolls visits the bar and has a bottle of Heineken, he/she isn't consuming the only one at the bar! I also really like the beer steins, since they look like they have liquid inside. We didn't previously have anything like them. The plastic goblets on the other hand are super chintzy, like our Gloria playset ones.
