Every December in Grassington, a beautiful village in the deep Yorkshire Dales, for two week-ends, there is a Dickensian Christmas market, old and young dress up in period costume, all very festive.

My parents, standing in my grandparents' living room, looking sharp and coiffed in their pre-bohemian days. I'm sure my mom used plenty of Dippity-Do (blue hair gel in a tub) to get her hair this high. And my dad is probably reeking of Old Spice.
I have no idea where in San Francisco they went this glamorous evening. But I know I stayed overnight, here, at Grandma's and Grandpa's in the Sunset District. I probably ate peppermint ice cream while wearing my footie pajamas, as Guy Lombardo played on the TV in the background.
I noticed only after taking this picture, the light was way too bright.
So, I played around with a few things in post and got this saturated image, which I sort of like. I may be the only person who shares this thought, but maybe you might too.

From his mode of dress I would say that he is a regular attender at horse shows rather than horse fairs where the dress is almost always much less casual than this. Bur ...whateve takes your fancy!

Hesitating before venturing any further into the dark alleyway, she collects her thoughts:
Sure is creepy enough here, but that man at the service station had said that cutting through this alley would be the quickest way on foot….
It was a good thing that he noticed my engine leaking some fluid when I pulled up for gas..
He had offered to fix it for free while I was at the show…
I wanted to call a taxi, but he said that it would take like an hour to come, and I do not want to be late for the theatre….so he most kindly told me about this short cut, he didn’t mention that it was through a nasty alley though, must have forgotten…
Such a nice young man, even though I did not care much about all his tattoos….and that spikey mohawk of his! ( giggles to herself)
Well I better scurry, it’s probably just down this way….
Oh wait, someone is coming this way, maybe he can be of help to me….
That is odd, he has a cane, but he is not using it properly… looks like he is pulling on the handle.
Maybe he is in need of assistance also…
Hails out to him as she disappears from view.. “Oh sir?”
Then all is silence………
my little boy grow up. I think I blinked and poof! There he was. All grown up and going to senior prom. Sigh.

Whit Sunday is a Christian festival. Whit Sunday is the birthday of all Christian churches. It is celebrated 50 days after Easter, the day of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The apostles, disciples, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, gathered in one room and began to testify publicly about their faith in Jesus Christ. Pentecost also takes place today when the believers share the faith for what was important to Jesus. In front of the San Lorenzo Maggiore church, children are dressed as apostles and disciples of Mary to celebrate Pentecost. A fun fancy dress party for the kids is celebrated in Napoli to the fullest

In Brugge you see many people who are dressed up in nice clothing, and also fancy hats, both ladies and gents!
It is the capital of West-Flanders.
And the tourists from all over the world follow suit.
Like this young lady on the market square in the centre of this beautiful historic city, where I was born.

A man catches a nap in a corner of Nakasu, Fukuoka, Japan. Quite a feat considering the noise from the surrounding bars, restaurants and the few tenths of thousands of people that roam this entertainment district every night!

Taken at five to one on New Year's Day morning after getting home from the Porirua Club (there was no fireworks display at Wellington Waterfront this year).
A new year, a new chapter, a chance to do new things. I don't do resolutions, but sometimes I have aims or hopes for a coming year. For 2022 I aim to get my garden finished, to get more structire to my days, to keep in more regular contact with friends far and wide and to dress nicely more often - including make up and jewellry. - Oh, and to keep up to date with posting and commenting in the Flickr challenge groups I have joined for the year.

What, it's the end of MY project, really? It went so fast, not sure I'm ready to leave the spotlight, especially for one that has that silly satellite dish around his head... Oh well, I'm off with Santa, merry Xmas everyone!
Of course they are not as famous as Whistler's Mother, but perhaps they should be, as icons of the St. Patrick's Day parade!
