April 8, 2012. Easter Parade 2012 - Fifth Avenue, NYC.
"From the Sublime to the Ridiculous" New York City’s Easter Parade attracts thousands. From the elegantly chic to the wacky bizarre, New Yorkers parade their finery on Easter Sunday along Fifth Avenue, which closes to traffic between 10 AM – 3 PM for the 2012 Easter Parade.
The 2012 Easter Parade included the usual array of striking outfits, zany hats, colorful canine attire, and dancing. Where else could you stroll on Easter Sunday and be so entertained!

my friends included their dogs in their wedding this weekend. they got to walk down the aisle too. vinny, on the left, wore a miniature tie, and lola (right) wore flowers on her harness...
After a disappointing visit to the Orchid Gallery in Moalboal (nothing was in bloom), I took a tricycle to what I hoped would be a more pleasing view at the beach. The bumpy ride to the beach was equally entertaining as the beach since I got a front row view of this parade of cars carrying children either going to a wedding or beauty pageant perhaps.
Wandering around various sites of London, we bumped into this fellow (although clearly, his face is not shown here - that's my fault for some bad out of focus photography). When this chap is not entertaining tourists and Londoners like myself dressed in his Brit paraphernalia, he is also a professional photographer.

We went out and met our friends Adam, Mary and their daughter Lily for a walk around Potrero Hill so we decided to dress up Anna for the day.

When I arrived to pick Sophie up at my parents' house this afternoon, she was wearing high-heeled "princess shoes" embellished with rhinestones and ENORMOUS glittery clip-on earrings. In this photo, she had added sunglasses and was prancing around on my parents' deck. Very Baltimore hon!

Tonight was the first time in the last few months that I actually blow-dried, and straightened my hair, AND put on full make-up (eye shadow, lip gloss and all). Not to mention I even wore high heels.
Tonight was the big SCAD Senior Fashion Show. Andre Leon Talley who is the editor at large of Vogue America, is on the board of trustees. Every year, an award in his name is presented to an iconic fashion designer. Past recipients are Karl Lagerfeld, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, Prada. This year the award was presented to John Galliano, the designer not only of all of Dior, but of his own lines as well. He is a god. A god who was too sick to fly to Savannah from NYC. Which was upsetting, but I did get to see my amazing boyfriend walk in a fashion show (it made me feel so cool!), I saw Michael Knight (from Project Runway), and some AMAZING clothes. It was really truly remarkable. I got really lucky and got a ticket, I was in the balcony but it was still outstanding.
I can't tell you how much I love my school. I feel so savvy here, I feel inspired, and like I could really become someone.
And tonight for the first time in awhile, I really felt pretty (though this picture isn't very attractive).....is it terrible that I had to do myself up and primp to feel that way? Probably. But I'll savor it for what is left, I rarely feel this, so I need to at least try to remember that it is possible.
