Note by the Artist
My SL name is HeLa Lennie (Hela means cell type in an immortal cell line btw).
I discovered Second Life quite by accident; I was bored in RL after my graduation at the Academy of Fine Arts, Graphic Design and was looking for something to distract me.
In Second Life, my passion has turned to fashion, so I launched a fashion brand called He La.
He La is a brand that is mostly high fashion; inspired by my Real Life story, which is not exactly pretty. That's why my designs contain a 'touch of darkness'.
Besides the He La Design brand I run a He La furniture shop, which is just starting.
In real life, except for design, I am a lover of fantasy and photography, which leads me in Second Life, to make pictures expressing parts of the RL me.
One day my friend Cold Frog introduced me to Dido Haas, co-owner/curator of Nitroglobus and the story began. The story of Nightmare, this exhibition which tells the hidden meaning of my life - translated into & described as a nightmare.

I will explain one of them; "Hollow" :
I dreamed of that moment | the moment that is crucial for someone who has been waiting for so long to be freed from the darkness | I had to see the light and desperately needed to be dragged out of that darkness | longing for a new beginning | a restart without suffering | the suffering of the darkness would end, with the help of a cold touch | I would be free.

I remember when had they introduced "Dress Code" Vanessa, she was met with a very lukewarm reception. Vanessa's sculpt changed, she was wearing a long navy dress, she had a hair bump, etc. But I forgot how pretty she was! Those red lips! I still love this sculpt.

'NOIR' by Joanna Kitten, the October 2022 exhibition @ Nitroglobus/The Annex.
A while ago I met Kitten at a sim where we both were making images. While talking to her I sneaked into her profile and discovered her Flickr images. I liked the quality of her work and invited her to exhibit at The Annex of Nitroglobus.
However, I had a request: I asked her to make a different style of images. Well she did and I am happy to show the result here on the walls of Nitroglobus: 'NOIR' an exhibition inspired by Kitten's love for the 1950's Film Noir.

BIO Joanna Kitten & Description of the exhibition NOIR:
Joanna Kitten started her Second Life in December 2019 and in the beginning was focused more on roleplay and social interaction, particularly at the Cyprian Gardens where she worked. However involvement in a photography competition there sparked an interest in Second Life Photography..
What started off as dabbling has become a true passion. Slowly she became more and more part of the Second Life's Art Community. She visited a lot of SL art venues when writing reviews for Focus Magazine. Kitten also gives presentations at Focus sim about her approach to Second Life Photography.
Initially her main focus was Landscape Photography. and she published her landscapes on Flickr illustrating her love of nature, the sea and wild places throughout Second Life.
For her photography she uses the Black Dragon Viewer and Affinity Photo for editing her images.
However, for this exhibition 'NOIR' (not to be confused with the former exhibition 'Noir Vibrations' by Noir Tater), at The Annex of Nitroglobus, she has moved away from nature photography and focused on scenes, especially scenes inspired by her love of the 1950's Film Noir. It's obvious that all here work shown here at The Annex is monochrome and very high in contrast accentuating shadows and light .

A woman outside the Club saw Colette. "Excuse me Miss, are you ok?" the woman asked Colette.
"Yes I'm fine, don't worry." Colette replied tearfully.
"I'm Vanessa, is this the venue of ASTRO's party?" she asked.
"Yes." Colette replied.
"Thank you Colette." Vanessa lit her cigarette.
Colette was curious about Vanessa. She thinks that she is not invited in the party. It seems that Vanessa was waiting for someone. She's suspicious about Vanessa until she saw a photo of Kyu from Vanessa's bag as the photo accidentally pops out while Vanessa is looking for something inside her bag...
"Ohhh... That’s my ex, Kyu. You know him?" Vanessa asked.
"No! Nice meeting you,I need to go back inside." Colette went inside the club. Vanessa puffed her cigarette and still looking for something in her bag.

Time travel, journey to heartof our life and its colors.
We will focus in the fall nascent: The sun is on the horizon and the sky at sunset sometimes reflections of old gold.
The earth is hot and wins the vital need to draw, paint, create before forget ...
And slowly, the wind will carry us ... and life will move, from one corner of the horizon to the other.
TIME OUT: Sculpture made by LOULY LOON accompany our pictures as evidence and participate in the highlight of this exhibition with poetry and delight in a SteamPunk style popular at the Galerie des Machines.
KATI HORNA (1912-2000)Humanist photographer "d' Avant Garde" .
As Kapa or Kertész, her Hungarian compatriots, Kati fled conflicts of Hungary 30s.
She says in 1993: "I fled Hungary, I fled Berlin, I fled Paris, I left everything in Barcelona ... when Barcelona fell, I did not able to get my stuff back, I again lost everything. I arrived in a fifth country, Mexico, with my Rolleiflex in shoulder, I could not take anything else. "
It is in Spain during the Civil War she sharpens her eyes and began to cultivate the strange mix of photojournalism and surrealism that mark her work thereafter.
In Mexico, her adopted country, she worked alongside great figures of surrealism, the Panic movement and artistic avant-garde Mexican. She then worked as a reporter and graphic teaches photography at the Ibero-American University in Mexico City.
BRUNO SCHMELTZ ( french painter ) et TAIKOGO AKINA ( 3 D creator )
Bruno Schmeltz always painted in a hyper-realistic style, but the surreal content. His dreamlike landscapes are obviously linked to the beauty of the Pyrénées (France), the last land of shepherds and silence. The works of Bruno Schmeltz carry in unlikely dreamscapes where giant alongside naked melancholy women, where the shipyard was invited in traditional Pyrenean landscapes or where ruined cities are the theater of life.
These thematics reflect the impregnation of his personal history and his relation to men and to himself, to time, nature and urbanism and to his region.
Everything is duality in the artist that displays an artistic singularity that challenges. The symbols dotting his paintings such riddles while mingling in a figurative kind.
SCHMELTZ Dali painted face of Pyrenean marble quarries ..
And it is natural that TAIKOGO, passionate and facetious creators, joined this artist: his creations in 3D, reproductions of works by Dali come with the works of Bruno, giving them a new dimension.
TAIKOGO notably carved "the rhinoceros", painted by Dali.
Back in history : Rhino that had been carved from animal allegories 6 continents during the World Expo 1889 in Paris, who lives the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower and the Galerie des Machines !!!!

Hello and welcome to my new exhibition at Galerie des Machines!
I have been making fractals (raw, post-processed, made in various styles, in various softwares, all of it) and showing them in SL for a while...but I came to realize that there are certain properties and features in SL that can enhance the visuals and effects of the simple works that I create....as I am a fractal artist, these properties or features are not really relevant to my works....but then if I look beyond the relevance factor and actually integrate them with what I do....the same I did before becomes new....it gives another level and dimension to the same works and brings out a new perspective.

Ein leckerer Cocktail in den Deutschland-Farben - passt nicht nur zu Fussball-Highlights. Als gelbe Basis dient ein Mango-Nektar, man kann auch Passionsfrucht-Limes verwenden. Über die Rückseite eines Löffels lässt man vorsichtig Erdbeer- oder Himbeerlimes laufen. Als letztes folgt Wodka Black Berries. Wichtig ist, dass alle verwendeten Getränke und auch das Glas gut gekühlt sind. Schluck auf! ;-)
