These photos are dedicated to my grandma that passed at 5:30am; 8/20/11. The morning of the Dream Cruise.
A little fill from an off-cam flash/umbrella on a stand to the right hit the interior. Golden hour shot!
The early evening rain washed away the cruise. Some headlights provided fill of the rear. What a sweet car! The quad headlight '61-62 'Vettes with the "Stingray" rear end are some of my favorites.

Dreams Old

I have opened the window to warm my hands on the sill
Where the sunlight soaks in the stone: the afternoon
Is full of dreams, my love, the boys are all still
In a wistful dream of Lorna Doone.
The clink of the shunting engines is sharp and fine,
Like savage music striking far off, and there
On the great, uplifted blue palace, lights stir and shine
Where the glass is domed in the blue, soft air.
There lies the world, my darling, full of wonder and wistfulness and strange
Recognition and greetings of half-acquaint things, as I greet the cloud
Of blue palace aloft there, among misty indefinite dreams that range
At the back of my life’s horizon, where the dreamings of past lives crowd.
Over the nearness of Norwood Hill, through the mellow veil
Of the afternoon glows to me the old romance of David and Dora,
With the old, sweet, soothing tears, and laughter that shakes the sail
Of the ship of the soul over seas where dreamed dreams lure the unoceaned explorer.
All the bygone, hushèd years
Streaming back where the mist distils
Into forgetfulness: soft-sailing waters where fears
No longer shake, where the silk sail fills
With an unfelt breeze that ebbs over the seas, where the storm
Of living has passed, on and on
Through the coloured iridescence that swims in the warm
Wake of the tumult now spent and gone,
Drifts my boat, wistfully lapsing after
The mists of vanishing tears and the echo of laughter.

I took this photo during my Vegas vacation last year.
Lake of Dreams at the Wynn Las Vegas is a free show spanning over 20,000 square feet and boasts a sophisticated underwater lighting system unlike any other. The production employs thousands of underwater LED fixtures to construct a show that combines color and water with remarkable results, making it one of the casino’s premier attractions. The show is done outdoors but inside the premises of the casino, with bars and viewing points located throughout the hotel to watch the show from.
"More than 4,000 individually controlled, submersed Color Kinetics® C-Splash 2 units are installed on 700 removable panels at the bottom of the lake, transforming its surface into a spectacular light-and-water show. The precise control of each C-Splash 2 unit allows for seamless transitions from one eye-catching sequence to the next, including intricate patterns and psychedelic colors that complement video images projected onto a waterwall behind the lake. Various statues appear to rise from the lake’s depths, lending to the ethereal effect."

The "Niki de Saint Phalle: Dream Machine" exhibition at the Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf runs from September 10, 2026, to February 7, 2027. This major retrospective features over 100 works arranged across twelve thematic rooms, offering a comprehensive overview of the French-American artist's multifaceted career. The showcase captures the full breath of her artistic evolution, spanning painting, assemblage, performance, graphic arts, film, design, and models for her iconic large-scale architectural and public projects.
At the heart of the exhibition is Saint Phalle's radical challenge to gender discrimination and her creation of a bold, monumental vision of femininity. The presentation highlights her famous "Shooting Paintings" (Tirs), dynamic performance pieces, and vibrant, oversized "Nanas", demonstrating how she carved out artistic self-determination within a male-dominated mid-20th-century art scene. 'DREAM'GIRL: Oscar-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson poses Jan. 19, 2011 with a nautical-themed Mickey Mouse inside the Walt Disney Theatre aboard the new "Disney Dream" cruise ship. On Jan. 19, Hudson took center stage at the ship's gala christening ceremony and was named godmother for the "Disney Dream" ship. It was a homecoming of sorts for Hudson. Before performing on "American Idol" and winning an Academy Award for "Dreamgirls," Hudson's own dreams of stardom began in 2003 as a performer on the "Disney Wonder" ship, performing for passengers inside the Walt Disney Theatre on the "Wonder." The new, 130,000-ton "Disney Dream" -- Disney Cruise Line's third ship -- accommodates up to 4,000 guests and features themed areas for children, teens and adults, and interactive entertainment throughout the ship, and industry firsts including the first "water-coaster" at sea. The ship will launch on its maiden voyage Jan. 26, 2011 from Port Canaveral, Fla., and then will sail three-, four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Disney's private island. Ya know how diffused things can be in dreams, as if a heavy fog hangs between you and everything you see?
I got this idea while watching my new neighbor, Sammy the Squirrel, out of my bedroom window. The lower half is usually covered in condensation in the winter, so the maple in the backyard looks a lot like this when I put the shade up.
This is comprised of two separate shoots (one taken in the early evening on one day and the other taken in the late morning the following day) and both are of the tree shot through the condensation on the outer window. I stitched the two pictures together and then went to town playing with the editing tools in Picnik to create what you see... which is what things look like in my dreams... or when I'm not wearing my contact lenses or glasses!!! :/
