Dream Cars exhibit at the High Museum (July 6, 2014)

A picture perfect location on the way to Lundy Falls. Fall colors were peaking and it was foliage all over the place. It was truly one sight to behold!

This image emulates the style that Holleben uses in his series Dreams of Flying. A classic dancing pose taken from an entirely new perspective.

Dreaming and daydreaming together.

I hold inside

too many dreams .

Won’t you pluck one out

and, perhaps, make it come true?

Too many dreams, I hold,

that never see daylight.

Buy one of my dreams

and show it the light.

I, as dream holder,

have more than my fair share of dreams.

Buy one, if you will,

and pull it out into the light.

Show the people of the land

that some dreams do come true.

Perhaps, someday,

a child will prick my dream bubble

with a needle or a pin,

and my dreams will burst out upon the land.

On that day,

you will see all that I’ve held inside.

And maybe, just maybe,

some of you, here, now,

will grab at those dreams,

hold them inside for awhile,

mix them with your own.

And perhaps, one day,

one of those dreams

will see the light and come true.

Our dreams are like bubbles, we have to be really very careful in dealing with them. Sometimes they make us really crave for them and bring the best out of us in order to achieve them. At other times, they just burst upon touching them, leaving us deeply distressed and demoralized. People who achieved greatness have at some point in their life dreamt about it..... Keep dreaming.....but not day dreaming...

I'm not naming this for the image itself, but rather, the dream-like shock that occured when I stepped through a door from a decrepit, decayed, dirty room into a well lit hallway that looks like it is still in use. I felt like I was dreaming it was such an odd experience.

This is the only shot that I could get since we rushed through with worries of security.

Dream Theater on their Along For The Ride tour blew Vancouver away on April 12, 2014. This was the 20th anniversary of me seeing them live for the first time. How is it possible that these guys get even better each time I see them. Amazing!

She had seen the Chilean coast before, though only in paintings, then dreams. She’d seen his face as well, it seemed, in fleeting glimpses or in the tides of a reverie. Now closer, inside an actual moment, from a chair on a terrace near the water’s edge, neither the coast nor his features were entirely true to form—better, in fact, to her delight.

The tables had been cleared. And one by one the guests were swaying themselves into dusk. Spectres of spirit animals trailed behind.

Diagonally from across the courtyard, clouded in his own smoky exhales, the man had seen her too. He wondered what spell made her so radiant—the night’s glow, the way it softened her in pastels; the ocean’s slow breath, how it conversed with her own.

By now the waiters had traded their trays for guitars, their ponchos laced with bells, their tip jars rattling, their dance one of courtship, the Cueca as they knew it. And by night’s end, the man would swap his seat with a hawk, she with a dove, and together they would fly over the long, narrow, enchanted nation.
