曾經,我讓夢想碎了一地。

現在,對不起,重拾起的夢,不再輕易丟棄。

dreaming of something, Tanzania

Please, don't leave award or fav without a comment, thank you !!!

Our dreams are like bubbles, we have to be really very careful in dealing with them. Sometimes they make us really crave for them and bring the best out of us in order to achieve them. At other times, they just burst upon touching them, leaving us deeply distressed and demoralized. People who achieved greatness have at some point in their life dreamt about it..... Keep dreaming.....but not day dreaming...

I'm not naming this for the image itself, but rather, the dream-like shock that occured when I stepped through a door from a decrepit, decayed, dirty room into a well lit hallway that looks like it is still in use. I felt like I was dreaming it was such an odd experience.

This is the only shot that I could get since we rushed through with worries of security.

Dream banner made with vintage text from storybooks and yummy laces, buttons, ribbons, glittered letters.....so much fun to create!

"in reality / in a dream / also for myself / what we dreamed about / such a beautiful dream / we were happy / I dreamed / red-orange sky / and then / I have recurring dreams / I am not afraid / I am afraid / I fly / often! / with huge wings / what will happen next? / a more introverted time? / a dream about the future / unreal / overcoming your own limitations / in her dreams she doesn't fly too far / I am afraid to turn around / I want to start running away / face your difficulties / about the need to reach the source of your strength"

Dreaming and daydreaming together.

By Orly Orbach

Orly is a fine artist whose evocative ink drawings provoke feelings of unease and fascination. The Dream House room she has created centres on a small sleeping figure, surrounded by haunting images of animals and humans.

Developing her idea for the room, Orly played with the idea of dreams opening up different spaces, physically and psychologically. Thinking about Jung’s use of visual symbols, she sketched ideas for rooms that frayed and dissolved, opening into dream spaces. The idea of a cave with drawings of animals flickering around the walls also fed into the final form.

A house in the outskirts of barcelona!

This evening is the opening night of my show, Trees I have dreamed. I haven't had much time for picture taking in the last few weeks so I dug this shot out of the archive. I shot this back in March and at one point considered including it in the show, but at the time I wasn't completely happy with it. All these months later I really like it. It's also a very interesting tree in person.

If you live in Vancouver and are planning on attending the opening, Radha is also a great place to have (vegetarian) dinner. I'm looking forward to seeing and catching up with everyone this evening. My social life has been on the backburner for months because I've been so busy with work/artwork.

More on the show here.

Dreams of the future come to me,

Into quiet places there they take me.

Is this real, can it be?

Or do my dreams forsake me?

Wonderful places full of grace.

Hushed and gentle the fields before me.

Far off vistas without threat.

Beckon transit and no regret.

High white clouds seen through the blue,

Of heavenly sky’s above me.

Eyes are on me, but from where?

They pacify and do not scare.

Beauty answers to my gaze,

Makes the view come clear through haze

Can this be real? It is so refined,

Everything here is intertwined.

Natural, is this feeling on my face,

In all directions and in every place.

These fields are my home now

And all is right beneath the bough.

Note: Some of our dreams are hopeful, they seem to suggest that peace is attainable after all, they give us grace that we seem unable to achieve in the real world or perhaps they point to the way we should actually be, something to reach for...

I wasn't too sure about this pose when I was shooting, but wound up loving the soft expression in her eyes. I also edited with a soft light layer...Think I might need to try that again...It is subtle, but i like what it added.

She had seen the Chilean coast before, though only in paintings, then dreams. She’d seen his face as well, it seemed, in fleeting glimpses or in the tides of a reverie. Now closer, inside an actual moment, from a chair on a terrace near the water’s edge, neither the coast nor his features were entirely true to form—better, in fact, to her delight.

The tables had been cleared. And one by one the guests were swaying themselves into dusk. Spectres of spirit animals trailed behind.

Diagonally from across the courtyard, clouded in his own smoky exhales, the man had seen her too. He wondered what spell made her so radiant—the night’s glow, the way it softened her in pastels; the ocean’s slow breath, how it conversed with her own.

By now the waiters had traded their trays for guitars, their ponchos laced with bells, their tip jars rattling, their dance one of courtship, the Cueca as they knew it. And by night’s end, the man would swap his seat with a hawk, she with a dove, and together they would fly over the long, narrow, enchanted nation.

There are two things that will keep a person young and alive- the fire of a burning dream, and the ability to laugh at life. If you’ve quit dreaming and quit laughing, you’ve quit living. Resurrect yourself. Rekindle the fire and laugh until it hurts. Otherwise, they might as well start shoveling the dirt on top of you now.

Fire destroys but it also cleanses and purifies. It can illuminate but also cause pain. Its energy is a potent symbol of eternal life or eternal damnation. Fire is a powerful yet ambivalent dream symbol.
