My hubby needed a fabric bag with a soft inside so I came up with this small felt-lined drawstring bag. I'll probably end up putting a tutorial on my blog for this project soon. It was a lot of fun and really to make!
Simple and divine white linen drawstring bag with three blue and pink transfer flowers with a blue ribbon to close.

Big enough to hold one person's dirty laundry from an average weekend away, but also great for hiding birthday gifts.
This bag was made entirely from scraps/remnants that I had on hand. The biggest piece was the bird fabric, which was about 3/8 of a yard.
I made another one with mushroom and DS Quilts fabric for a gift, but forgot to take a picture.
OMG I LOVE this bag! I have always wanted to sew a lined drawstring but the patterns I always found online were a little confusing. I found a great pattern the other day that was wicked easy to follow! Jeni at InColorOrder wrote it and It is amazing! I will probably make 50 more!

Take a snip at each of the four corners, right to the line of stitches you just sewed. Then, fold and pin down the fabric along the stitch line to the inside of your bag-to-be.
Now, this part is up to you. You can go ahead and sew it down, or add your applique fabric or stitch out, and sew it and the hem down at the same time. Me, I like to be sure, so I sew the hem, then sew the applique in. That way, when I'm sewing the applique, I don't have to worry about the hem rolling up.

Love this print. I bought a yard each of dog and cat newsprint cotton and used one for each side of my bag coordinated with dog and cat ribbon and a bright paw print interior. I use this bag for the knits in progress for my cat and dog, of course.
