Made from Merino wool and handmade silk paper. You pull the long strings to close and then pull the short strings to open! A very effective design!
My go-to birthday gift. Would have liked some cat/dog Beanie Babies to go with the fabric, but when you're shopping for a gift at the grocery store half an hour before the party, she gets what she gets! Had to interrupt my Roller Skate dress project to get this made - much to my dismay!

Yellow fabric with Chocolate Brown polka dots, big turquoise blue & pink flowers. The coordinating fabric is chocolate brown with colors that match the outside fabric. The flaps are offset so that the coordinating fabric shows when the purse is flat.
This purse can be carried flat or pulled closed with the blue ribbon drawstring.
This is a great for an adult, teen or young girl.

Enlarged & modified the Day Bag pattern by Nicole Mallalieu with drawstring closure & an elastic pocket for ipad...my favorite knitting tool! This was an experiment that still needs a little work...I don't like zipper closures for knitting bags since I always zip my yarn into the zipper at some point but I think this drawstring top is a little too big for this bag & wish the bag was a little bigger. WIP...

Made from pattern in Sew Hip issue 4. Very easy and straightforward instructions. Only change I made was to use narrower twill tape than specified, as I did not like the look of the 2cm tape on my bag. This is 13 mm.

Go ahead Jen--giggle away! LOL Yes, another bag! And I'm not done yet! I got a bunch of great suggestion in my blog contest and the wheels are turning! This one is done in some pretty repro feedsack fabrics in pink and aqua. I even added a pretty rick rack and flower button detail!
I'm not seeing my cousin's kids until January 1st this year, which thankfully gives me enough time to whip up these lined drawstring bags, using Jeni's ever-so-popular tutorial. Some of my bags are maybe an inch shorter than Jeni's instructions, just dictated by the size of the fabric pieces I had on hand. I love the look and need to find an excuse to make some for myself!
