You can see there is large pocket on the inside as well as a snapping yarn guide that allows you to remove the project from the bag before it is completed. The pocket is split into three sections, one just perfect for a Chibi case, one for a tape measure and therapeutic gloves if you need them, and one for holding a set of 5 sock-sized DPNs.

Thread up your sewing machine, make sure you have a good needle, and stitch a sort of 'stay' line about a quarter inch in from the 'frame' you cut earlier. All the way around.
Grab your stitch out or applique fabric, and fold it to about the size you want. Let's say mine is five inches square (because I didn't measure when I did this (blush) ) . Draw a five-inch square on either side of your fabric, and cut it out. Make sure your embroidery or fabric will fit. And keep in mind you'll probably use about three inches from the top edge as your casing later - you won't want your applique to be a part of that !
When in doubt, go lower - so the design isn't caught up in the casing or the 'gathering' part.

I've been too nervous to use a sewing machine, but Leannich showed me how to use it and helped me make this bag. It'll be a drawstring bag as soon as I put the cord in.

This awesome trick or treat bag is definitely not your grandma's pillowcase! It's made from a cool black and orange batik print and finished off with an orange satin ribbon drawstring!
