I could not get a picture that would do this bag justice, but I definitely tried!
This main fabric of this bag is acrylic and polyester.
It is so soft!!!
And the inside, the straps, the casing, and the drawstring are al done in an accenting purple!

When I was younger I always wanted a little mystery to myself, since I couldn't keep secrets so I would try and find a little hiding place for things. Never really worked out.
But when I was making this bag I thought it would be a great idea to incorporate that idea into it!
There is a standard pocket within the bag, but that pocket is a pocket as well!
Along the side of the original pocket there is a zipper opening it up creating a pocket.
You can see it in one of the pictures of you look closely.
This is a really nice sack made for on the go girls!
You can just throw anything and everything into it and be on your way,
very helpful on those rushed mornings!

I whipped this up for a neighbor as a little gift. Small gift bag is just the right size for it's 6 home made cookie pals and the matching tea cozy (holds 2-4 tea bags) can be tucked in too. Love it! I hope she liked it too.

fyi, the book instructions call for two drawstrings as shown in my pic. The book picture shows just one.
OK. Measure your ribbon's width. Mine, for example, is 3/4 of an inch wide. Add about a half inch more, for seam allowance and folding. That gives me 1 and 1/4 inch - so I measure that down from the top edge, and mark it. All the way from one hemmed long edge to the other.
We're gonna run a 'fold line' of stitches from one side of the bag to the other, being super-careful when stitching over the two hems and the thick jeans seam. Some throat plates will have this measurement on them already, but if your sewing machine's isn't marked, you can always measure and mark the distance with tape or pencil. Stitch a good strong line from the side hem to the side hem, straight across.
