I usually make little one for sachet but someone suggested me to make bigger one. So here is!!

The material is called Chirimen, a special crepe a little heavier than normal fabric used in making Kimono.

Grab your other cord and thread it from the opposite side of the bag.
Over the weekend I happened to be at a friend's house. He had a massive crystal ball on display in a window, half wrapped in silk cloths. I asked him if it had ever started a fire. He said yes, it had— hence the silk wrappings. He admitted the wrappings were not very effective, but they were better than leaving the sphere in direct sunlight.
I thought about this a lot on Sunday. And digging in my stash of fabric, I found this nubbled stretch of 6/8 of a yard of fabric; and some red ribbon. Here is a Bag for a Palantir (for those who don't mind a Tolkien reference).
Hospital activity bag for poor ole Jules (2yr old) who has a badly broken leg:-( Full of stickers, buttoning activity, lacing activity that he can do on his lap. Bag was made using "Simple sewing" backpack pattern, but I didn't have enough fabric for the backpack straps. Cute as a drawstring bag for a toddler anyway.

Actually I was trying to make it smaller than the original project and I missed a step in making the drawstring, haha.
It's pretty easy to fix, I'm just being lazy at the moment. Right now it's being used as a sunglasses case (lol) and if and when I fix 'er up I'll update the photo! :)

This is the Star of Inana / Star of Ishtar Hand embroidered with Silver metallic thread. This bag is big enough for a large sized Tarot Deck or Oracle Cards. People have also used these bags for jewellery, crystals, runes and more!
She made this with her own kimono. Gold foil are used very effectively. Smoky purple color with traditional Japanese nature design. It's so beautiful!

So, this is my first drawstring bag with a boxed bottom. It's a small lavender one with two lavender ribbon roses attached and it is for a friend's Civil War costume. The inside is dark purple. There are a ton of sites with free tutorials for both the purse and the roses. The roses are on bar pins so they can be removed.
The photo is kinda bad since I took it with my cellphone but I wanted to document that I actually made something! Haha.
Now, you're gonna use that 'fold line', and fold the jeans towards the wrong side (inside) and pin down. I used a quarter-inch seam allowance to sew the casing down.
Make sure the casing is as clear and empty as possible. While you can't see it, I trimmed the fabric around the applique, to make sure it didn't get sewn inside and clutter up the casing.

DD attended the birthday party of her BFF and gave the birthday girl a gift card to the local toy store so she could purchase a Zumbuddy when they were back in stock. I made a small draw string bag and rosette pin using this tutorial from Cluck Cluck Sew, to hold the gift card.
I'd wanted to make one of these for quite a while, I think a whole quilt of these blocks would be amazing.
I made this little bag using Pink Penguin's Tutorial, but I didn't use any patchwork. Also, I used pink polka-dotted ribbon for the handles which gave the bag a nice touch. The fabric is '30s and 40's vintage reproduction fabric. Hope Janice likes her new little bag?

Gweniveve loves this "blue flower" print form Park Slope so of course I had to make her a blue bag since that is her favorite color.
The presents are piling up. I like the way that these fabric bags look. They are made out of some ticking and although they are not overtly festive, they look the part and can be reused for any occasion
