Imagine that you're separated from a dart board by one of those action movie industrial fan vents. It's spinning pretty fast but not so fast as to obscure the board.

Imagine you have to throw the dart so that it dodges the fan blades and still hits the bull's eye.

Most of the time, you throw the dart the fan throws it back in your face. Maybe 1 out of every 20 throws, the dart makes it through the fan--only to fall to the floor or miss the target completely; 1 in 1000 hits the wall on which the dart board is mounted; 1 in 100,000 sticks into the board.

This is an analogy explaining what it's like fitting my thoughts to language.

I'm sorry I fuck up so much but if you knew how much work went into those myriad fuck ups...

I had always been curious what B&W Slide Film would look like. And while you can get Scala again, there's a lab that can turn almost any B&W Negative film into a B&W Slide. So a group of us decided to give it a go. Now one of my least favourite films in 35mm is Ilford HP5+ so it was the one I decided to go with. And you know, using the Dr5 process it actually looks awesome. Rich, contrastry, and excellent grain.

I cant believe they dont make this film any more and soon there wont be any more left.

I discovered that I can develop this transparency film as a negative in Rodinal and I like it much more than the slides I got from Main Photo. And I need to add, do not send your Scala to those people. Do not send that horrible, unprofessional, negative butchering hell hole ANY kind of film. If you dont want to develop the negative yourself using Rodinal, send your film to dr5.
