Nairobi now has a small and growing number of double decker buses, in the hope that these might help to decongest the traffic jams, in which the city is suffocating...
The cliffs are Pleistocene glacial and nonglacial sediments. I need to look closer and study some stratigraphic sections to fully interpret what I see. It looks like Whidbey Formation, an interglacial delta deposit. As you go from right to left along the beach you are walking down-section.

This bee seems to have been captured in a spider web then ants have come along and started on it while the spider is otherwise occupied. It didn't have a hope!
Not quite sure why this worked out like this - SOOC!
I think it was the reflection in the glass of the double decker - upstairs and in the front.
Taj is hiding from Kita. The symbol on the bottom of the little porcelain table leg means, in Chinese, 'double happiness.' We all know what/who double happiness means in my little apartment!
This picture meets the goals of double exposure by blending two photos together in a creative way. I took this picture by taking pictures of old clock in my basement. Then I took many pictures of different people’s faces and decided to use my neighbor’s picture. The picture of my neighbor was taken around 4 o’clock which allows for light in the left side of her face. In Photoshop I edited this picture by placing the two pictures on top of each other and making Corrine’s face black and white, while leaving the top picture in color. After that I put a hard light blending mode on one of the pictures and a soft light in the other to create a warm glow on the picture to give it an older feel. Next I had to put the pictures on a new blank picture and resized the clock picture so that I could align the clock with her face.
My picture’s greatest strength is the alignment of the clock with her face. I tried to get the hands of clock centered in the middle of her face, and I tried to make the clock the same size and shape of her face. If I could change one thing in this photo, I would make the person’s face more similar in shape to the clock because I feel it does not align perfectly. I would also eliminate the shadows from the edges of the clock because I do not believe they are necessary and they are a little distracting.

A radiograph of a double-crested cormorant shows the location of an ingested fish hook. The internal injuries caused by the fish hook were fatal.
My double nose piercing. This is the best zoomed in one I could find... but I know there are some more you can see it in somewhere on here.

Wow, what a fantastic photography-filled day!
Had a blast on a travel photography course and even managed to find the time to visit both the Leica and Lomography stores. Bought something from one but not the other…you can probably figure out which! ;)
For the image today, the challenge was to produce a low-key photograph - details here: www.lightstalking.com/low-key-photography
I’ve used a photo I took today of a bust inside Manchester Town Hall - Edward Brotherton I think, though don’t quote me on that!
Obviously some major processing has taken place here to get it into a ‘low-key’ state. I found the best way to achieve this in PS was to add a black layer on top of the image then use the (clear) brush tool to slowly reveal the bottom layer using a low opacity, soft brush. It takes a little bit of trial and error to get the right levels in the brush, as well as the strokes but it’s worth it in the end! :)
Thanks for looking/comments/shares/favs!
