Walker Double Exposure
This picture meets the goals of double exposure by blending two photos together in a creative way. I took this picture by taking pictures of old clock in my basement. Then I took many pictures of different people’s faces and decided to use my neighbor’s picture. The picture of my neighbor was taken around 4 o’clock which allows for light in the left side of her face. In Photoshop I edited this picture by placing the two pictures on top of each other and making Corrine’s face black and white, while leaving the top picture in color. After that I put a hard light blending mode on one of the pictures and a soft light in the other to create a warm glow on the picture to give it an older feel. Next I had to put the pictures on a new blank picture and resized the clock picture so that I could align the clock with her face.
My picture’s greatest strength is the alignment of the clock with her face. I tried to get the hands of clock centered in the middle of her face, and I tried to make the clock the same size and shape of her face. If I could change one thing in this photo, I would make the person’s face more similar in shape to the clock because I feel it does not align perfectly. I would also eliminate the shadows from the edges of the clock because I do not believe they are necessary and they are a little distracting.
