A rushed shot with a lamp-post in the way, because it is rare to see a double-decker on route #78 between Stanmer Park and Brighton Station. I was on a bus to Coldean in the opposite lane.
Double Rainbow, Interstate 40, Tennessee
According to AccuWeather.com meteorologists, a ray of sunlight passes through a raindrop, reflecting off the back of the drop at varying angles.
Along with this reflection is refraction of light that causes of a spectrum of colors-- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
Certain angles and "bending" reflect light better for refraction to occur, and the amount of light refraction corresponds to wavelength and color.
For example, blue light is always refracted at a deeper angle than red light. This is the reason blue is found at the inside of the bow and red on the very outside.
Nature's natural color spectrum always elicits the same pattern (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) when light is refracted, commonly known from the Roy G. Biv mnemonic.
While a primary rainbow is visible when light is reflected once off the back of a raindrop, a secondary and usually dimmer rainbow is spotted when light is reflected twice in a more complicated pattern.
The colors of the second rainbow are inverted, with blue on the outside and red moved to the inside. The second bow appears dimmer or cloudier because much more light is released from two reflections, and both bows cover a larger portion of the sky.
It is rare and unlikely, but three or even four rainbows can be seen on occasion, but only if they are reflected off of the earthly objects.
The best time to see a rainbow is in the early morning or late afternoon, when the sun is lower in the sky. When the sun is in a lower position, a higher bow can be seen.

The Rainbowtron Double Rainbow has been sitting around unfinished for way too long. I started building it originally for the vertical fighter challenge and mostly finished it but.. didn't. It's a challenging structure and always wants to come apart at the seems.
There is a giant ladder that folds out to allow access to the top mounted cockpit when landed. Rainbowtron technology remains a mystery so there aren't any conclusive explanations for the workings of the weapons and thrusters. There are strange reports of staggering destruction left in the wake of the Double Rainbow but these are nothing more than rumors. More and more, Rainbowtron is attracting the attention of the other space factions, both good and bad.
Nothing compares to a double espresso from fresh beans.
I usually buy french roasted beans on Ultra, Solsiden.

A Double-banded Plover found amongst the numerous Red-capped Plovers near the Bega River mouth at Mogareeka, just north of Tathra. Not sure if this is an immature bird or a non-breeding adult.
A double room at the Polynesian Hotel in Walt Disney World, FL.
We were happy with the room, it was large and of course the amenities at this hotel are outstanding. Plus the monorail is right at the front door. One small thing - the rooms they call "Garden" rooms are not a garden view - but a view of the parking lot!

OMG What does it mean? This is an "all the way across the sky" full-on double rainbow found outside of Custer, South Dakota on Aug. 6, 2010. The super-dark sky really helped the amazing intensity and color pop from the background. Tokina 11-16 wide angle lens captured the huge full arch.
