The Double-crested Cormorant is a large family of fisheaters residing along freshwater and saltwater shores around the world, Despite spending much time in the water, They have hooked bills and bare pouches deal with fish. They do not possess the waterproofing oil of other seabirds and so must spend much time drying their wings.

Photographing myself in the mirror - and what I see on the bookshelf in front of me ... double exposure time.
I have been told that a milky looking double glaze window is the result of the gas between the panes leaking out, and the silica used to keep the gas dry depositing on the glass .It appears that condensation droplets were pulled this way and that by the water -absorbing nature of the silica, and they left these little trails through the milky layer.
Two Red Knots and several Dunlin scurry about on the mudflats in search of food. The daunting task of flying over 9000 miles in migration is something that I find difficult to comprehend. We might do something like that in the relative comfort of a plane. These birds must propel themselves this distance. It's like flying from New York to California three and a half times. The world might seem a much smaller place to humans if we could accomplish the same feat, of our own accord, in a similar time frame. #iLoveNature #iLoveWildlife #WildlifePhotography in #NewJersey #Nature in #NorthAmerica #RedKnots #DrDADBooks #Canon #WildlifeConservation

Double exposure of the palm tree next door to me during those extremely high winds on Sunday. My thoughts go out to the people who lost houses and property in the bushfires near Kerang and areas near the Great ocean road. The emergency services people had to work in those winds while the bushfires were swept further out of control. www.abc.net.au/news/2018-03-19/fires-victoria-18-homes-de...
