Outside of Chester Station, the Private Charter went into Chester North Junction for Class 37 locomotives D6817 (37521) and D6851 (37667) 'Flopsie' to attach and take over the haulage of the train. Now at the helm, the pair double head the excursion through the station, as it heads east toward Crewe.
Pair of Tree Swallows (Tachycineta bicolor) give me a look as I grab a couple of shots.

I went to the zoo again today and there I spent quite some time at the enclosure of the Lace Monitors. The one in this photo is the female and it was the first time I had ever seen her swimming.
"Double-Win" .... yesterday as the southbound Lake State road train had a pair of slug sets doing the work - nice to see four units together in the new image paint - here near Rose Center, Michigan on February 8, 2020.
Another one from a couple of days ago - had quite a successful session there! Well, I did manage a couple of dry uploads (actually five...blimey!!), you surely didn't think it would last did you?!

The double-crested cormorant is a member of the cormorant family of water birds. It is found near rivers and lakes and in coastal areas and is widely distributed across North America, from the Aleutian Islands in Alaska down to Florida and Mexico.

Amazing double rainbow appears as a supercell moves through Cleburne, Texas. One of the brightest rainbows I have seen. Pretty much straight out of the camera, just a perfect scene!
Taeniopygia bichenovii. these tiny birds are named for the 2 black bands at throat and chest, seed eaters. In my garden.
Double vision. Looking through binoculars from the wrong end.

and now, a double stairway. Also that added steel handrail gives much better support to the humans ascending, than do those side levels, which are a nice design but not much aid for the climber!

They say the customer is always correct, so I can only accept your verdict. And the verdict is that the only photo I have posted that made it to Explore this winter, was one taken by Mette. So here is one more set of photos she took last summer.
These are from Flatbreen here in Fjaerland. A very populare mountain hike, with a cabin at 1000 meter to sleep in if you want to go further north on the glacier. You have stunning views down to the valley below, with the fjord. It is close to the glacier, yet you don't have to walk on it if you lack skills or equipment.
Storm was 11 when he was here, and a bit stiff after resting. But he made it up, and down again. Mette is the fit one of us, so she did this hike with a friend. (I might have used work as an excuse to not go.)
Something very different. I am finally free from my PMS! Male PMS is, as you all know, parked motorcycle syndrome. It is a terrible syndrome mostly affecting older men in the northern countries. It can not be healed, and is worst when the sun start to warm, the roads are bare and the bike is still in storage. But last Wednesday I finally brought it out again, and life is now so much better!
