So much for the love of curls and doodle, my practice over my piano music sheet collection (cover).

A little more classier look :

I just played with the marker-like brush that I found in our drawer. Here's the result. Childish doodles. Hahaha :))

Still trying to decide if it is finished or if I'm going to fill the white spaces.

Just a doodle but I don't have any pens at my sisters place so the outline is in pencil and then ruined in photoshop elements

Sir Francis Galton was my kind of scientist. As a young bloke he took a job dispensing medicine in a pharmacy (my current job) he figured that the only way to really understand the drugs was to try every single one in alphabetical order and see what happened. Only trouble being he got to the letter C and took two drops of a powerful emetic and it made him puke so bad he gave up on the whole idea. He wrote an extensive book on travel covering every ridiculous eventuality - usually his advice was completely wrong for example "to find a source of honey: catch a bee, carefully tie a feather to one of it's legs, then throw it back into the air and follow it to the hive". Allegedly his house, had no carpet, cushions or wallpaper but was full of his own inventions including one that informed everybody in the house when someone was in the toilet. Apparently this saved him walking up the stairs.

But the bit I find most appealing about him was his work on finding beauty in women. You see his cousin was Darwin and when Charlie boy set his book The Origin of Species loose on the world Francis obsessed over the fact that traits were hereditary. Naturally he assumed this included intelligence and feminine beauty. He then took it upon himself to find out where the sexiest birds were and went round all the cities he could get to putting all the women he saw into 6 categories from "thin to prize fat" anyway he somehow worked out London had the best proportion of fit girls and Aberdeen the worst.

I first read about him in a book called Woman as Design (well worth buying) and have been vaguely interested in him since.

He also invented and studied a load of other cool shit so go and learn about him if you get 5 minutes.

After doodling for a few months, I decided to venture into experimenting with different kinds of markers and surfaces. I bought 2 sharpie paint markers and made a doodle on a scrap piece of mat board I had laying around.

The doodle was a WIP for a long time until I finished school and decided I wanted to tackle the rest of it. Though most of my doodles tend to have their own kind of deckled edge, I wanted this one to go all the way to the edge of the board.

This took about 8 hours to create. Using paint markers on a rough surface proved a little frustrating, as there were times where the marker would kind of dry out, and I'd have to shake it up a lot to get a nice stream of ink coming out again. I definitely plan on doing more work with sharpie paint markers in the future!

"Paige Chernick’s Upper East Side apartment is immaculate, with everything in its place, no clutter in sight and not even one strand of dog hair. Besides the poufy poodles greeting you at the door, there are no immediate signs that dogs really live here. And then, upon closer examination, you’ll see the basket of plush dog toys in the corner, the framed photos of sister doodles Charlie and Sawyer wearing bathrobes in a tub and the spacious closet reserved just for their stuff.

While you may not be familiar with Paige, who is a Long Island native and social media manager, you probably know her dogs."

Random doodles in my sketchbook...still need color!

This was my doodle 4 google entry! I won the best in the whole school, but I wasn't a finalist or anything. Which is sort of annoying cause I really wanted a laptop.

But anyway, here it is now!

Congratulations to the others that did get through in my category:

(go to the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th category)

It's finally a nice day! It's freezing cold but nice and sunny :D

My uncle was a brilliant artist, but it was really unfair because he never won any competitions because they all thought he traced the pictures :(

Although the bird on the left captures immediate attention, by far, my favorite piece on this page, and quite possibly this entire 8 page collection, is The Lumberjack.

The Lumberjack was done on a Post-It note with Pilot .5 gel pens in black and red. In this image, he is chopping down a music tree yelling, "timbre!" as notes drift down.

This concept of an image is one I plan to embellish as its own illustration.

all done in pencil in my sketch book. I started doodleing and this happened...

A tattoo design idea I created for my friend, Shaun. He used this as the base, but the artist added his own creative details, as well he should.
