I decided to check out what birds were around my local area this morning and came across a couple of Galahs that were feeding off grass seeds on the ground.

This bird with the red eye is the female, whereas the male has a brown eye.

Hope you like the DOF used here - I was trying to isolate the bird from some of the cluttered surrounds.

The days are getting shorter, the sunlight weaker. I sit outside and enjoy the delicate rays of sun on my face, like this still green leaf.

Some bit of snow squalls this morning but it is quite cold. The windchill is certainly a difference maker. We're expecting some more tmw, hopefully I can snap a few if I don't chicken out because of the cold :P

Another bird I encountered yesterday at the Hunter Wetlands Center whilst shooting with fellow flickr tog and long time friend Joe Micallef.

The Brown Honeyeaters were competing with Scarlet Honeyeaters and loads of Silvereyes for the nectar from the flowering Grevilleas here.
