I read an article on magazine. The writer suggests that we should shoot pictures which are not done by other people before. No matter it is the subject, the scene, the approach, the style or the composition. We should make only fresh, new and creative pictures. The world is already full of cliche. They don't need more of it.
I fully understand that the world is already loaded with tons of compositions with the Japanese maples. The composition with the tree branches is cliché in the eyes of many.
But I still do it. Because this is the beauty in my eyes. I keep my own record.

Hey team how are we all doing?
It be throwback Thursday today and I've finally finished processing a photo taken 2 weeks ago from my trip to Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
Renown for its unique architecture this crazy critter being the Sydney Opera House continues to fascinate and inspire architects all around the world, or so I'm led to believe. This photo was shot from the Milson's Point side with a 70-300mm telephoto lens on a dodgy tripod.
The processing was done like this; firstly the photo was taken into Lightroom where the massively blinding highlights and whites were dulled down. The shadows were raised up a tad too as some parts of the photo were too dark. Then I played around with the colours using the HSL panel until I got the feel that I liked. I aimed to contrast the bluish sky with the orangey/yellow lights inside the building. I cropped the image and fixed up the horizon to make it straight. I then brought the photo into Photoshop and did some noise reduction using Imagenomic's Noiseware Professional software. Finally I cleaned off the image by using a combination of the clone stamp tool, spot healing brush and the brush tool. The most challenging part of this process was to get the image right in camera with the nasty gale forced winds of that night.

RuÃnas dos altos-fornos da mina de São Domingos. Esses altos-fornos serviam para torrar a pirita da mina para extrair enxofre, cobre, prata e ouro.
Ruïnes van de hoogovens van de mijn van São Domingos. Deze hoogovens werden gebruikt om het pyriet uit de mijn te roosten om er zwavel, koper, zilver en goud uit te winnen.
Ruins of the blast furnaces of the São Domingos mine. These blast furnaces were used to roast the pyrite from the mine to extract sulphur, copper, silver and gold.
Ruinen der Hochöfen der Mine São Domingos. In diesen Hochöfen wurde der Pyrit aus der Mine geröstet, um Schwefel, Kupfer, Silber und Gold zu gewinnen.

We're such big Heroes fans at home but the season finale last Monday left us scratching our heads and exclaiming, "what the....?!" So today's shot is a tribute to Nathan Petrelli... oh, and also for today's photo challenge theme: grass.

After a week of cloudy weather & rail strikes it was nice to capture 1436 on IR21861 the 08.20hrs Porto Sao Bento - Pocinho as it passed Caldas do Moledo unfortunately we were moving from our Holiday on the Douro to the Atlantic coast line North of Porto for the second week making it more difficult for me to get any shots I had planned.

Avocets are wader birds of the genus Reurvirostra, characterized by long legs and long, up curved bills. They live in wetlands and during feeding they sweep their bills from side to side. Avocets are rare and critically endangered bird species. They represent four species of the genus Recurvirostra which are commonly known as Pied avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta), American avocet (Recurvirostra Americana), Red necked avocet (Recurvirostra novaehollandiae), and Andean avocet (Recurvirostra andina). They also have migratory activity.
Es aquà en Roncudo el lugar donde acabaron sus dÃas muchos otros barcos que navegaban por estas aguas y que no fueron capaces de sobrevivir a A Costa da Morte. Y muchos de esos naufragios dieron nombres a las piedras que rodean el faro. Debajo de las cruces está el Petón do Millo…¿por qué? porque un barco cargado de maÃz naufragó allà y dió de comer a toda la población durante meses.
