What do these old statues think of the young female that has arrived beside them three floors up in Vienna?
Out of the scores of thousands of photos I have taken outside, only a few combine excellent light, easy composition and clarity. This is one of them.
I did not have much time to photograph this eagle as he flew up from devouring a dead deer in the ditch and landed on this tree top that was obscured by branches but I knew if I could stealthily creep down the road further I could avoid the trees and get a clear shot.
Little by little I am finding what I can and can't do around eagles. One secret to not disturb them is to watch their head and when they are looking the other way to use that brief time to move quickly to the position that gives you the advantage.
I had a lot of practice doing this around my mother when I was young
