My dark red 'Oklahoma' hybrid tea-rose.
A secret treasure in my rose garden here in the Hills District of Sydney. 'Oklahoma' is a super fragrant rose.
Photographed duing one of the summer thunderstorms that have besieged Sydney in recent times.

So here are 'The Beatles' with their mega famous song 'Love Me Do' released in 1963. It was the band's first ever song!!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pGOFX1D_jg
AND, amazingly, 1963 was the very year that the rose 'Oklahoma' was born - created by Herbert Swim and O. L. Weeks at the Oklahoma State University, in the USA.
It is my Miss 17's most favourite rose. And she also sings 'Love Me Do', even though the lyrics are from 1963, and a lifetime away from her world of Tik Tok and ChatGPT.
But the simple message of love transcends time and resonates with her as she begins her own quest for love!!
"Love me do
Someone to love
Somebody new
Someone to love
Someone like you"

Do not forget to say goodbye, to give a caress before going to work.
Never forget to love who you want
Do not forget that time passes, that today will become
in tomorrow with the passing of the hours.
Do not forget that it is not always easy, that sometimes one is wrong.
Don't forget that not everything is perfect, that dark days suddenly appear.
Maybe everything is summed up in being when you have to be, in staying with someone who makes you smile even when you don't want to, maybe everything is never forgetting who remembers you every day.
Do not forget.

A Lagoa do Fogo llegué un mal dÃa climatológicamente hablando.
A shot of I've been reluctant to post for a long time now - not tack sharp etc. however I do like the almost disgusted look on one of the otters faces as it is covered in water while the other has a good shake. I think the one on the right is mum and the one doing the shakin' is one of 3 cubs.
You can press L but it's pushing it. Still it's amazing what a modern camera can do at iso 1250 and 250th/sec - and no VR.

every sighting and context is precious
When one encounters this species it is important to not stress them out or (if at all possible) to not ever flush them
They are a threatened species on Vancouver Island , coming here to attempt nesting after a long and exhaustive migration
There are times when, with extreme patience and care , they can be spotted and admired from a safe distance
That is when one can really appreciate the power of good lenses (camera & optical)
With all but a couple barns stored or retired, getting one leading anymore is just not possible, especially in the US where they seem to be impossible to find. Back in 2019, they were getting scarce, but still often enough to not worry me. In 2021, the barns are gone, and so is the simple, but still neat split rail fence that separated the tracks from the parking lot where you could sit and wait for the next train in downtown Haslett.

Today's Science Lesson: though this rattlesnake -- common in the Ozarks, but not on our property -- seems to be napping, as the weather cools it becomes sluggish and stays near its winter hibernaculum, usually a small cave on wooded hillsides. Most snakes in Missouri, however, go into brumation, a slowing metabolism, so on warmer days might briefly appear. We see more common and non-poisonous garter snakes, kingsnakes, black and rat snakes and almost no rodents, thanks to our slithery neighbors.
Aerial daredevil Sean D. Tucker performs as part of Team Oracle during a 2018 airshow in Ypsilanti, Michigan. As I recall, this stunt involved a ribbon that was held between the two banners, which Tucker then broke with his low-flying biplane. If you look closely, you can see the red ribbon caught and trailing behind the top left wing.
