Brisa do mar

Confidente do meu coração

Me sinto capaz de uma nova ilusão

Que também passará

Como ondas na beira de um cais

Juras, promessas, canções

Mas por onde andarás

Pra ser feliz não há uma lei

Não há porém sempre é bom

Viver a vida atento ao que diz

No fundo do peito o seu coração

E saber entender

Os segredos que ele ensinou

Me dressed as a maid and trying to do a proper curtsey for my mistress. I wear the necklace with pride that my wife gave to me.

I do like this dress and it is a dress. Picked it up from a charity shop before i went away so its a bit snug due to my over eating lol.

I hope to maybe get to wear it out over the Christmas period if we are allowed out that is.

"Shisen-dō (詩仙堂) is a Buddhist temple of the Sōtō Zen sect in Sakyō-ku, Kyoto, Japan. It is registered as a historic site of Japan. It stands on the grounds of its founder, the Edo period intellectual Ishikawa Jōzan (1583–1672), who established the temple in 1641.

A room in the main temple displays portraits of thirty-six Chinese poets. The selection of the poets was based on the opinion of Hayashi Razan. The portraits were executed by Kanō Tan'yū. This and some other parts of the building date to the time of Ishikawa Jōzan.

The temple's gardens are considered masterworks of Japanese gardens. One of them includes a device called a sōzu, a type of shishi-odoshi designed to scare away wild animals such as deer by making a loud noise. Water trickles into a bamboo tube, and when it reaches a certain level, it upsets the balance of the tube. The tube tips over on a pivot, discharging the water, and turns upright, striking a rock and emitting a loud clapping noise." (Wikipedia)

It can be challenging to get a good photo in the forest without fog or mist. You always need to be extra creative in pursuit of something decent. I love shooting this scene. I do it in all seasons.

I was deliberately planning to shoot in this forest for this shot. The fresh lush forest is just too attractive to me. Hope one day to manage to photograph it in foggy conditions, as I never did. Although I found this forest as a local one, it still needs some sort of vehicle to get there and I have other places where I go when fog is outside.

I wanted to include a trail as a contrast to the greens around. It was a cloudy and overcast day. Perfect for forest shots. I have a position that is a bit above the trail. From there I choose the most optimal perspective for me to take a shot. This scene I found a few years ago which is strange given the fact I go to this forest much longer. It looks magical in autumn. Can’t wait for yellows and oranges to come to this place to photograph it.

Anyway, I took a bunch of photos that day from this place, came home, transferred them and then totally forgot about even going for a shot, as that was the second time in a short period I went there. Just last week I suddenly recalled that I may have an ‘’extra’’ album with photos… And here it is. In the edit, I did some dodging and burning to make the light stand out a bit. Different shades of greens are such a spring thing. Hope you like the photo. I’m highly open to any feedback you have.

Well, where do I start? It was Missy's 13th birthday last Wednesday. We had hired a field out for private use and ordered some special baked goodies for her, it was to be a fun day to celebrate her turning 13. Only it didn't plan out that way. Moments after this picture was taken Missy jumped clear off the bale, landed awkwardly and immediately held her back left leg up. She didn't cry or otherwise act in pain, seemed to carry on actually so we assumed it was a bad sprain. She hobbled along very carefully, not weight bearing on this leg, but still eager for her treats and continued her walk without us knowing the extent of her injuries.

We left after a further 30 mins and on returning home she became very withdrawn and spaced out. Still unable to bear weight on that leg and it was decided we should take her to the vet after advice from them during a phone call. Get to the vet and she's shaking violently as she's super stressed during vet visits but was being a good girl. On inspection the vet immediately comments that she thinks it's a fracture as she can feel bone crunching in her leg. Missy was incredibly brave, despite being in absolute agony. Not a peep from her. Anyway, we return home with pain meds and the advice to return the next morning for x-rays. Over night she was whining somewhat and very unsettled. The next morning we are referred to the Veterinary Hospital in the city. Missy was very stressed again and very difficult to examine as she was wrestling and resisting, but after some time and realising she was better behaved on the floor rather than the table, these other vets thought it felt more like a dislocated knee than a fracture and that she wasn't showing obvious signs of pain. They decided to keep her in and x-ray her. Later on that day I receive the news that the x-ray shows she has NO fracture or break to her bone as feared, but she has ruptured her cruciate ligaments and possibly damaged her meniscus too. The vet said her symptoms and behaviour even fooled her a little! She said she was in a huge amount of pain. So, with further discussion it's suggested she needs surgery and that they should keep her in overnight, ready for surgery the next day hopefully. However, come the next day I receive a call that things have taken a turn for the worse and Missy had been sick throughout the early hours of the morning and had bloody diarreah. I was fearing the worst at this stage, I really was as it just seemed like a downward spiral. The vet was to uncomfortable to put her under anaesthetic due to how ill she was feeling. So we bought her home on the advice she has strict crate rest. She was SO ill yesterday - shallow and noisy breathing, dazed, drooling, shaking violently, cold to the touch. She refused all food and continued to have bloody diarreah. She was supervised carefully throughout the day and night, given her pain meds, and by today she had perked up considerably! No more sickies, and whilst she still has some diarreah it's no longer bloody!

So, that's where we're at really. Missy still refusing most food, but looking brighter and us just waiting for a rescheduled surgery date. It's been super stressful and worrying, but fingers crossed she can make a full recovery x

A shot from my morning walk today

Wise words, even if it's just scribbled on concrete. CSXT 8863, still donning a classic and rare(er) YN2 paint scheme, leads J782 at North Dayton, OH, passing by a former warehouse in the derelict part of town.

The monument outside the church, Nossa Senhora da Oliveira , the unusual Salado Memorial - Padrão do Salado stands proudly in front of the church it is a Gothic canopy and cross, reputedly marking the spot where the great Wamba the Visigoth, victorious over the Suevi, drove his spear into the ground beside an olive tree and refused to reign and accept the royal title, unless a tree sprouted from the handle. In true legendary fashion, it did just that. ( as it did in other cities where Wamba showed in history 😊

This unique Gothic monument was completed in 1342 to commemorate Portuguese success at the Battle of Salado, a landmark event in the removal of the Moors from the Iberian Peninsula.

Of course there is a olive tree growing in the middle of the square.

Sony HX400V---The big spikes on this cactus are not the worst problem. It's the tiny white ones, you can barely see and have barbs, that give you grief. I found out the hard way, that if you touch one of these blades, many of those little spears will dig into your skin. The only way to remove them, is the same way you get porcupine quills out of a dog's nose------With small, needle-nosed pliers and a hard, painful pull.

Nordeste, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal.

In the woods of Nordeste Village, on the island of São Miguel, “Fajã do Rodrigo” is a heavenly location valued by the “Ribeira do Guilherme” and its fantastic waterfalls that plunge into a huge natural pool of clean and refreshing waters. This forest reserve with 1,5 acres provides direct contact with the endemic flora and the enjoyment of place with a rare kind of beauty in the island, perhaps because completely disassociated from the almost constant presence of the sea.
