One of the first things noticed when approaching the church Senhor do Bonfim ( Salvador, Brazil) - thousands of colored ribbons tied to the fencing surrounding the Bonfim. Each one of these ribbons represents a wish or an intense plea for dreams, love, success, health, peace, energy…. A 200-year-old tradition that again, blends the African faith with Catholicism as superstition and miracle granting powers entwine. The fita or “the measure” acquired its name because at 47cm its size corresponds to the length of the right arm on the statue of Senhor do Bonfim which resides on the altar of the church.
The ribbons are a myriad of colors and have the words “Lembrança do Senhor do Bonfim da Bahia”, or in remembrance of the savior of Bahia written on them. The original fitas were made of silk and written on by hand in silver. These fitas were draped around the neck and adorned with medallions and holy depictions. Nowadays the ribbons are worn as a good luck charm petitioning for miracles big or small.

A campaign to prevent the Chamber of Deputies vote a project to reduce the legal reserve of the Amazon is being conducted by Greenpeace with support from other civil society organisations. The PL 6424/2005, called "Forest 0", reducing the reserves of the Amazon legal private property from 80% to 50% and allows an offset deforestation in different areas of the originals. The text, authored by Senator Flexa Ribeiro (PSDB-PA), also opens space for the planting of so-called energy plants (such as palm, castor bean, babassu and sugar cane). Uma campanha para impedir que a Câmara dos Deputados vote um projeto para reduzir a reserva legal da Amazônia está sendo conduzida pelo Greenpeace com apoio de outras organizações da sociedade civil. O PL 6424/2005, batizado de "Floresta 0", reduz as reservas legais da Amazônia em propriedades privadas de 80% para 50% e permite compensar um desmatamento em áreas diferentes das originais. Somit stellt dieses Gebäude ein Musterbeispiel für die architektonischen Veränderungen dar, die im Zuge der Weltausstellung EXPO'98 in Lissabon stattgefunden haben.
Mit durchschnittlich 800 Besuchern pro Tag ist der “Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Ciência Viva” heute eines der meistfrequentierten Museen in Portugal.

Man sieht ganz deutlich, dass die europäischen Architekten oft nicht so sehr auf die Gestaltung des Betons durch die Schaltafeln achten und dass die Löcher der Schalungsanker oft eher zufällig platziert sind.
Das Baumodul ist hier in der Regel ein Vielfaches von 12,5 cm. Die Schaltafeln dürften hier 50 x 150 groß sein.
Bei Tadao Ando haben die Schaltafeln das Tatamimaß, also ca. 90 x 180.

Tadao Ando ergänzt später die konischen Vertiefungen, die auf die frühere Lage der Schalungsanker hinweisen, oft durch künstliche Bohrungen, um eine japanischen Glückszahl zu erreichen.
Bei João Luís Carrilho da Graça scheinen sie eher willkürlich.

“What you doing?” came the shout from station staff on the opposite platform, clearly puzzled as to why I was paying such close attention to — and photographing — a station poster. The answer soon followed. 66567 burst through Stafford station at speed, working 4M61, the 12:56 Southampton to Trafford Park Freightliner.
That evening, Stafford played host to a healthy gathering of 1Z10 railway photographers, in town for a two-day spell around the area. As ever, the day concluded in the best possible way — with food, a pint, and plenty of laughter to round things off.

- É claro que sim querido. Aqui... com cuidado... - Segurava Aislin com as duas mãos, e se aproximava mais de Vishous, colocando a criança com cuidado em suas mãos. - Ela não vai quebrar, tem a sua força.
- A nossa força... - Pegava Aislin nas mãos com todo cuidado do mundo e então viu a pequena abrir os olhos lentamente, dando um longo bocejo e assim o encarando com olhos sonolentos. Sentiu o corpo ficar tenso, juro naquele momento que Aislin estava vendo sua alma. Era como segurar Lissa a tantos anos atras. Ela o olhara daquela mesma forma e ele soube que ela mudara sua vida pra sempre.
E lá estava ele de novo, dessa vez com Aislin, seu mundo certamente nunca mais seria o mesmo.
- Acho que ela gostou de você rs.
- O-oi pequena... - Sussurrava a ajeitando nos braços protetoramente, tocando a pequena mãozinha que se agitava pra cima. - Você é mesmo forte não é? Assim como sua irmã.- Recebia um pequeno gemido em resposta, arrancando-lhe um sorriso. - Você e Lissa vão me dar tanto trabalho... Já vejo voce correndo atras dela, e quando crescerem mais... pela Deusa... sinto que terei que matar cada moleque remelento que se atrever a querer namorar vocês.
- Vishous!
- Perdão rs. Talvez eu só os coloque pra correr, certo Aislin? - As mãozinhas de Aislin seguravam seu dedo com firmeza sem tirar os olhos de si. - Eu amo você sabia? Lissa vai... ama-la tanto. Todos vão amar você.
- Oh Vishous... - Se reencostava nele, suspirando longamente, acariciando a cabeçinha de Aislin.
- Durma agora... você precisa descansar. Eu fico aqui com ela.
- Tem certeza? - Se acomodava mais, ja sonolenta.
- Você confia em mim? - Via ela assentir em resposta e sussurar baixinho "Com a minha vida", e beijava sua têmpora com carinho. Assim ficando com Aislin nos braços que logo adormeceu igual a mãe. E por algumas horas ele ficou ali, vendo suas meninas dormirem tranquilamente.
Nada lhes faria mal, isso ele poderia prometer. Daria a vida por elas sem pensar duas vezes.
Sua vida realmente nunca mais seria a mesma.
E que sorte a dele por isso.

Der Pico do Arieiro. Mit 1818 Metern Madeiras dritthöchster Berg. Vom Gipfel des Berges startet eine ca. zweieinhalbstündige Wanderung zum Pico Ruivo. Für diese Tour sollte man allerdings gut in Form sein, denn unzählige Treppen und steile Anstiege über die Bergrücken, fordern alle Kräfte. Der Aufstieg ist jedoch eine Reise Wert. Ein einmaliger Ausblick vom Dach Madeiras. Früh aufstehen lohnt ebenso, denn in den Morgenstunden hängen die Wolken meist noch über dem Ozean. Bei gutem Wetter hat man hier eine phantastische Aussicht.

This very locomotive was lately overhauled and prepared for hauling special retro trains.

Dzisiaj tę lokomotywę możemy podziwiać w zielonym ładnym nowym lakierze jako retrolok do pociągów specjalnych.
