Portsmouth Historic Dock:- Part of Portsmouth Harbour and within the Royal Navy dockyard. I have been wanting to come here for years. My biggest want when visiting was to see HMS Victory. Well I did and cracked my head several times, but every smack was worth it. What a fantastic ship. But there was also The Warrior, Dock Cruise, Mary Rose exhibition. Sadly the Mary Roase cannot be viewed as they are building a new lottery funded building around her. There was of course the Royal Navy museum both past and present. It was a grand day out.
this pic sums up Cardiff Bay for me , working docks alongside leisure areas, cycle paths and further down restaurants etc
My office is based down at the docks and I had the camera and a tripod in the car so took the oppertunity to take this picture with the last of the evening light.
I took this shot of a dock in Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park as I started my hike around the lake earlier this summer.

(Edward was the son of Reverend Humphrey Christian and Elizabeth Brett.
He m1 1773 Frances daughter of John Christian of Ewanrigg Hall, Dearham, Cumberland and Jane daughter of Eldred Curwen of Workington Hall and Julian Clenmore
