This was an old dilapidated dock on the St. Johns River. It finally fell into the water, so I'm glad I was able to get this shot before that happened.
I had to use HDR to get any tonality out of the dock, but I was about as gentle as I could be with the effect to keep it somewhat realistic looking.

This was my 1st picture on my Digital Camara. I've always loved this dock...
Late 14c / early 15c font - the bowl panels appear to show seated under canopies, liturgically vested figures of priests, deacons, bishops and doctors of the church. Underneath are praying angels, evangelist symbols and leaf decoration.
On the stem under carved canopies are mainly female saints - St Catherine with her wheel and sword, St Apollonia with her pincers, and, curiously, 3 seated figures holding babies. Possibly BVM & Christ Child, St Anne holding the infant Virgin & St Elizabeth with the infant John the Baptist. The corners have the remains of crouching lions (?) sadly their heads have been hacked off. - Church of St Mary the Virgin, Docking Norfolk

On the shores of the Kenya Coast. An old almost wrecked but strong dock gently lies in the Indian ocean waters.
Built in 1944, HMS Cavalier served in the Arctic, Western Approaches and British Pacific Fleet before finally paying off at Chatham in 1972. Today she is preserved as The National Destroyer Memorial commemorating the 11,000 lives and 142 Royal Navy Destroyers lost during the Second World War.
One of 96 war emergency destroyers HMS Cavalier currently resides in No.2 Dry Dock on the site of the Old Single Dock, where the Royal Navy’s most famous Chatham built ship HMS Victory was constructed. A fitting location for a vessel once known as ‘the fastest ship in the fleet’.
A summer sunset over the docks in Nantucket is a truly captivating scene. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a palette of vibrant colors, reflecting off the water and creating a picturesque landscape. The boats gently bobbing in the harbor and the serene docks add to the peaceful ambiance, making it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the island.
