(Edward was the son of Reverend Humphrey Christian and Elizabeth Brett.
He m1 1773 Frances daughter of John Christian of Ewanrigg Hall, Dearham, Cumberland and Jane daughter of Eldred Curwen of Workington Hall and Julian Clenmore

In December 1798 he took the surname of Hare by Royal Licence and later became vicar at Brancaster, Norfolk - Church of St Mary the Virgin, Docking Norfolk
