I have been so blessed to swim with wild dolphins! These images were snapped by the super underwater photographer SparkyLeigh. I used to love watching him dive down, flip upside down and blow bubbles out of his snorkel as he took shots like these.
This is the building that was used by the Scottish Parliament between 1999 and 2004. It is now part of the University of Edinburgh School of Divinity.
Granny sent some sweet treats home with us, yesterday evening, and I thought this one-- called "divinity"-- was worth photographing, primarily because I will always associate this homemade candy with holiday get-togethers at my paternal grandparents' house.
Divinity is a very sweet, light, nut-laden confection. I've always thought of it as a Southern goody, but apparently it may not be peculiar to this region.
I don't know Granny's recipe (& so ought to ask, one of these days), but there are of course many to choose from online. On one such recipe web page, I found a Google ad for "diabetes recipes". Way to take the joy out of Christmas sweets, Google! (g) ...But the stuff is almost pure sugar. Definitely not an everyday snack.
Arte Divina highlighted divinity and the holy act of creativity. Arte Arcana focus on the dark side of the arts from whatever philosophical source artists draw their inspiration. Speaking across cultures and traditions is difficult to say what can be considered "dark". We invite artists to share their visions, interpretations, critiques, thoughts and discussions.

The first day of Navaratri opened with an energetic procession where the many aspects of the Divine Mother were taken out from the small temples and taken with the devotees to be brought to the tent where these auspicious nights would be celebrated.
Paramahamsa Vishwananda gave a beautiful speech about this aspect of Ma that we celebrate on the first day. Shailaputri Devi represents this determination on the spiritual path. Devi in this form reminds us to remain strong, sincere and above all focused on whichever aim we set in our lives, just as the eagle sets its eye on its prey kilometres away. No matter what the size of the prey, it fearlessly aims for it until it succeeds. He explained the beauty of being a devotee of the Lord is that, as a devotee, the attitude is driven from within and it is our choice which way we decide to look at life. Guruji concluded that these nine days are a journey in rediscovering something that we have forgotten: our true divinity, and the Divine Mother comes to remind us softly (or strictly) depending on our own individual needs.

These white stone idols of Ganapathi or Ganesha were lined up in roadside shops at Srirangapatna.
A stream of foreign visitors ensured that this divinity on stone came at a heavy price even for the local visitors.
In every breath, a universe unfolds,
Each atom a testament, ancient and bold.
In rivers that flow, in mountains that rise,
The divine essence, a silent guise.
From the flutter of wings to the stars' dance above,
All intertwined in a tapestry of love.
