At Jamie Hall's kingfisher hide, Norfolk (www.jamiehallphotography.co.uk).
Whilst some parts of the country where hit with heavy rain, I had lots of sunshine until way past 6pm this evening. Both male and female kingfishers were out feeding, mainly in the early morning and late afternoon.
Patience really does pay off - most of my shots had the wings or beak cut off the frame or in many cases, not in the frame at all :-) Some shots had the bird but not the fish!
This photo was taken at 1/8000 of a second, the kingfishers really are quick!
This calf was one of the large group at Maskell pass which we were fortunate enough to watch for a couple of hours, diving, feeding, breaching and resting on the surface. You can just see the blowhole of its Mum as she came up for air behind it.

Oh, this wasn’t in my plans
Abandoned ship and headed for the sand
Oh, the albatross crash-lands.
I’ve got the sinking feeling that I never can go home
If I stare into the abyss
Will it stare into me?
"Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old." Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)
My dear flickr friends, sorry for my abscence for the longest time. I'm alive and kicking well, lol. Miss you all!

Happy Throwvember, though this guy was finished a couple months earlier. Was inspired by MSEP's really cool Slizer revamps and had to try doing one myself. This build was also an exercise in using non socket joints, something I'm trying to get better at.
This place has been in continuous operation since the 1940s, when its prime position between the Convair bomber plant and the worker housing ensured a lucrative business at quitting time.
Giant diving beetle. These beetles are active in summer and live in ponds or ditches, feeding on other aquatic arthropods. They are nocturnal but sometimes active during the day. Approximately 3.5 cm in length.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybister_fimbriolatus
This beetle feeds on aquatic insects and creatures, this includes tadpoles. The males use their paddle feet to secure females for mating. They are good flyers and are attracted to artificial lights at night. They are most active at night and can be seen moving from puddles and pools to flooded roads, moving from one water source to the next.
The very claer water is wow.....
