We visited historic Port Chalmers to have a look around as it is a short drive from Dunedin.

February 23, 2018, Port Chalmers Otago, New Zealand.

The Regional Maritime Museum at Port Chalmers is the focal point for the social and maritime history of the small port town of Port Chalmers, Dunedin’s West Harbour area, and the Otago coast. Our permanent displays and temporary exhibitions open a window into the lives of the people of the region and their connection with the sea.

The Museum’s collections include items relating to the regional fishing industry, the Antarctic expeditions of Scott, Shackelton and Byrd, and the social history of Port Chalmers. The collection also comprises extensive holdings of photographs, archives and manuscripts. The Museum’s archives and research service are recognised as a significant regional information resource also used by national and international researchers.

Yum!! So many different kinds of ice cream and so little time to try them all!!

A bakery located in Grand Central Station, New York.

Taken during the April photo"walk" which was more a dash to the next stop, due to cold and snow and rain mix.

Sort of creepy: this reminded me of a vintage Twilight Zone episode - the final twist ending where the protagonist gets frozen forever as a miniature bust in a museum's display case.

What was once just a junk yard has become a photographer's and tourist destination. The owners have figured out how to make $ on more than just the 4,500+ cars.

Display cases on the second floor. They contain various vintage family collections. The doorway leads into the Master Bedroom.

Yes, folks, even more expensive than the fresh ones. Get 'em while they last.

I like this old farmhouse in Franklin/Salisbury next to the historic childhood home of Daniel Webster where I took this photo: www.flickr.com/photos/catchesthelight/575703150 This one was fun to filter in photoshop as well :>)

I think this shelf is pretty much set. Sorry for the crappy lighting.

The only thing I'd add to this shelf are those SD'ish Final Fantasy figures that have yet to be released (at least, I think they haven't been released).

Cutting some of the pre-laminated pieces.

There is a puppet festival in Marlborough at the weekend, to commorate the 60th anniversary of Bob Pelham's puppet-making career. Unfortunately it clashes with the Cornbury Festival, for which I have a w/e ticket. There are a few items on display this week though, so we went to Marlborough today so that I could see them - some very old puppets from 1947-8. We also visited the charity shops of the town, and had lunch at Pizza Express.

Display case full of the mysterious and yummy donuts at Voodoo Doughnut in downtown Portland.

Note the Celtics, Pats, Sox and Bruins candlepin balls in the back.

Chocolate treats within the display case at the Cafe Chocolate of Lititz in Lititz, PA.

My wife and I have now twice been to the Cafe Chocolate of Lititz as a capper to one of our date nights, as well as to satisfy our sweet tooths. As one could well guess, chocolate is sprinkled liberally throughout the menu of lunch/dinner, breakfast, drink and dessert offerings to great effect. On our visits to the cafe, we have been impressed with not only the desserts we ordered, but our tasty beverage choices as well.

On our most recent visit, we were greeted personally by the gracious owner of the establishment and given top-notch service by the manager. I've had a Mocha Frapuccino there as well as an Iced Hot Chocolate (my favorite so far), and both were excellent.

We're currently trying to recruit another couple so we can go back to the Cafe and try their molten 60% Cocoa dark chocolate fondue (As their menu states, "A feast for 2, plenty for 4.")

Beth & I went out to take pictures at the ColumbiaGorgeHotel... stopping along the way at [what we now know is] the Baker House, snapping their prize winning Christmas Lights. Next thing you know we are inside on a grand tour, and shooting everything in sight.

I spent a considerable amount of time trying to get this figurine. However, it was behind glass & in front of a mirror, so flash was just out of the question. Anywho, I couldn't hold steady enough for the life of me, and finally actually asked beth to come over and 'help" me steady myself.

Observing the efforts, Tony (Mr.Baker, himself) says he has an old tripod out in the garage I could probably use. Sure enough, he goes out to get it, we put that baby on my baby and I was good to go for the rest of the tour.

Really, such lovely, amazing, hospitable people... Lord, bless them!
