Almost Heaven, West Virginia. This is a 2.5 second exposure of Brush Creek Falls. Despite the constant rain, the water for most waterfalls we visited was a trickle. Brush Creek Falls was the exception. This is the largest waterfall in the southern part of the state, and once had a water-powered mill, which was built by Jimmy D. Johnson around 1880. The falls drops over a sandstone ledge that is about 25 feet/7.5 meters in height near the mouth of the stream's deep gorge of Brush Creek at Bluestone River.

I front-lit and back-lit the famous Arch Rock in Joshua Tree. Illuminated by a ProtoMachines LED2 flashlight and a full moon. 19.5 minute second exposure in total ("stacked"). The photo shows the movement of the stars over a long period of time, created by the movement of the earth. This is not a post-processing creation. No pixels were harmed during the creation of this photo. :D

Four Eyes Lift Off (4833)
Pearsonville Auto Salvage Yard, Mojave Desert, California. I used a handheld LED flashlight to illuminate the car, and then used it with a homemade snoot to hit thehead lights with a yellow light to make them glow a bit more. We had these amazing clouds most of the evening, creating fantastic shapes with or without long exposures.
This is a real photo taken at night. Everything was illuminated by a big bright moon, an almost full moon, almost bright enough to read a book. And setting my tripod-mounted camera to a long exposure made the camera much more sensitive to light than our eyes on this already bright evening. This is why this photo seems brighter than what we might see at night. It is not due to post-processing. The moon, which reflects light from the sun, also makes the sky bluer, and when the photo is a long exposure photo, the sky will appear brighter, making the blue more apparent. I also illuminated the junkyard car with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 flashlight while the camera shutter was open. This is not a post-processing creation. No pixels were harmed during the creation of this photo. :D

In The Glow Of The Long Setting Sun (2016-06-22 21:36)
Route 1, or Ring Road, has many scenes with fantastic beauty. When I saw how the sun was illuminating this mountain and the beautiful meadow of lupines, I immediately pulled over and set up my camera. The beautiful lighting went away, but I thought I would remain there, hopeful that the clouds would part and this would be cast in a beautiful, buttery glow again. The golden hour. And thankfully, that happened. Most of the time I was in Iceland, it was overcast. But at this moment, magic occurred. And when these moments occur, I want to give it a big giant hug and a kiss and savor it.
Throughout Iceland, there were many beautiful fields of lupine, whether here in the south part of Iceland or in the Westfjords. Being from California, this made me feel quite at home. Nikon D610/Nikkor 28-300mm. 1s f/8 ISO 100.

Mobius Arch and the snow-capped Sierra Nevada Mountains during a cold winter night. Alabama Hills is an unincorporated area located in Inyo County in the US state of California. The star trails are caused by the rotation of the earth during the long exposure. All illumination and colored lights were done with a handheld flashlight during the exposure, and is not a post-processing creation.
Mobius Arch y las montañas de la Sierra Nevadas durante una fría noche de invierno. Alabama Hills es un área no incorporada ubicada en el condado de Inyo en el estado estadounidense de California.
