Welcome to week two of our mother/daughter dippy project!! I chose Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Not Taken". My 8th grade teacher made us memorize this back in middle school. I'm not really a big fan of poems (I suck at interpreting them), but I actually liked this one ^___^
I had a hard time finding a path to shoot for this dippy. I couldn't find one, so I made my own XD

Today I'm off to New Zealand! Incredibly excited for this adventure, I'll be posting updates on instagram instagram.com/davidkingham and my new site www.nomadicdestiny.com/ as I find wifi. I never thought this trip would happen, as hippy-dippy, new-agey, granola sounding as it is, when you put your intentions out to the universe and trust in it, amazing things happen. I am blessed and so thankful!
This shot was taken in the Tetons on a hazy night, the light on the wood is actually coming from a nearby bathroom which was very bright, I need to talk to the park service about getting IDA approved lights on this bathroom! Taken with a fuji X-T1 and Zeiss Touit 12mm (I now have the Rokinon 12mm f/2 instead) 25 secs @ f/2.8 ISO 6400. I'll be shooting exclusively fuji for this trip and will be writing a lot more about it when I get back.
The genus Diplodocus was first described in 1878 by Othniel Charles Marsh. The fossilised skeleton from which Dippy was cast was discovered in Wyoming in 1898, and acquired by the Scottish-American industrialist Andrew Carnegie for his newly-founded Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. The bones were soon recognised as a new species, and named Diplodocus carnegii. (Wiki.)
The Natural History Museum's famous dinosaur, Dippy the Diplodocus is touring the UK, and Rochdale has been selected as 1 of just 8 venues which will host him during the tour.
The iconic exhibit started his tour in 2018 and will take pride of place in the award-winning Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale from February 2020 to June 2020. (Rochdale on Line)

The Glorious Om Riff by Steve Hillage
The Hindus believe that at the beginning of the world there was just the sound and energy of Aum. The sound increased, the universe vibrated and the world was created.
I first came across Steve Hillage when I attended the Deeply Vale free festival in Rochdale, 1978. At the time he was a bit too hippy dippy for me but as my tastes changed, I delved deeper into his work and rather like his stuff now.

The main hall of the Natural History Museum (London), dominated by the 26 metre-long (83 feet) Diplodocus (D. carnegii) cast, gifted NHM from Edward VII in May 1905 (parts were replaced/repaired in 2004).
The museum is situated in the appropriately names Exhibition Road, South Kensington and opened in 1881, when it was originally part of the British Museum. The building, often described as a 'Cathedral of Nature', was designed by Captain Francis Fawke who died shortly afterwards, and who's plans were amended and seen to completion (1880) by Alfred Waterhouse.

100 year old blue whale skeleton is unveiled to replace dippy the dinosaur at the Natural History Museum
Today was Megan's first lunch at preschool - she's been dying to join in for ages and I finally relented, chose a funky lunchbox for her, and signed her up for Monday lunches.
I've decided that Monday will also be eggy lunch day for Eli and I - eggs feature so rarely in his diet due to Megan's allergy. It has been years since I had soft boiled eggs and I'd been looking forward to these all morning. Eli quite enjoyed the 'dip dip' aspect, and crushing the empty eggshells, but was less enamoured by egg white on its own. Next week: omlette
I took the picture of my own hands by dangling my camera on the neck strap and putting it on the timer, holding my hands blindly in front of the lens. Not even sure if I would get them in the frame. Fortunately, the first one looked okay, because I took this just walking along the sidewalk and felt kind of awkward about taking this picture.
You all know what it's like stuck in All week raining and generally horrible.Theres A break from the rain for an hour or so and you just have to get out? Unfortunately it gets dark again grrr ,This is the result of 1 of those moments taken 2 minutes from home at A daft 32000 iso hopefully will get out again in better light and hopefully get something A little better !!Thanks to everyone that takes the time and makes the effort to comment and fave my pics its very much appreciated

Something quick for DIP-it-Thursday : Music is my life
Music earrings were a gift from my sister. Piano shot was from last year. I forgot that today was Thursday so I didn't have a dippy prepared. I came up with this so I could join in today's theme since I was the one who suggested it XD
It's been raining nonstop here, my piano keys have been sticking because of the humidity :(
