I hope you are having a lovely weekend dear flickr friends :) And trying out my new logo...but I don't know if I will keep it *lol*
Dippy the diplodocus stood in the main hall of the Natural History Museum in London and had been at the museum for 112 years. Following his retirement in 2017 he went on a tour of the UK. He is seen here at Norwich Cathedral his final stop on the tour.
Dippy is actually a plaster cast of a skeleton rather than the real thing and there are plans to recast him in bronze so he can be relocated in the museum gardens.
I just really loved the way this all came together for mine and Lis' dippy (see dippy below) but I wanted ya'll to see mine a little bigger so you could see the colors better!

Lis and I went to Savannah yesterday so we decided this weeks dippy should be from our favorite store - Paris Market! They have the most unique items - of course I shot the bottles (you know my obsession) and she shot the cool old drawers with stamps. We have more pics to post this week - so make sure you check both of our streams for other goodies from this wonderful place!!

I forgot to mention that my friend Katy www.flickr.com/photos/kmtucker/ and I have started a blog based around diptychs. We pick a theme every week and then come together at the end of the week to see our interpretation of that theme. It's been a lot of fun! It's a fairly new blog, but we hope to make it something special :)

This was originally shot for Brinks while we were doing our DIP-it collaborations last week. But she used a different shot for her dippy, so I decided to play around with this one :)

BNSF 8043 leads a FerroMex ACe and an Exec MAC south with a manifest through the Air Force Academy, CO.
This is Academy, one of two passing sidings on the single-track portion of the Joint Line north of Colorado Spring, and the siding itself is looking a little more dippy than I remember it being.
Well, here it is again...Molly and I...our diptych (mine top, hers bottom)!! The theme was "pink" in honor of Valentine's day and I just have to say how much I adore her (http://www.flickr.com/photos/firstyallplay/)...she is awesome! Thanks, friend!

The Natural History Museum in South Kensington with "Dippy" now relegated to the cold and the rain out front, having been replaced by the blue whale skeleton in the grand entrance hall of the musuem.
I struggled to find a good angle on this landmark, which is surrounded by metal railings and closed at night, so settled for this composition taken between the railings.

I Knew a Woman
I knew a woman, lovely in her bones,
When small birds sighed, she would sigh back at them;
Ah, when she moved, she moved more ways than one:
The shapes a bright container can contain!
Of her choice virtues only gods should speak,
Or English poets who grew up on Greek
(I'd have them sing in chorus, cheek to cheek.)
How well her wishes went! She stroked my chin,
She taught me Turn, and Counter-turn, and stand;
She taught me Touch, that undulant white skin:
I nibbled meekly from her proffered hand;
She was the sickle; I, poor I, the rake,
Coming behind her for her pretty sake
(But what prodigious mowing did we make.)
Love likes a gander, and adores a goose:
Her full lips pursed, the errant note to seize;
She played it quick, she played it light and loose;
My eyes, they dazzled at her flowing knees;
Her several parts could keep a pure repose,
Or one hip quiver with a mobile nose
(She moved in circles, and those circles moved.)
Let seed be grass, and grass turn into hay:
I'm martyr to a motion not my own;
What's freedom for? To know eternity.
I swear she cast a shadow white as stone.
