Costruita tra il 1151 e il 1227 in luogo di un edificio preesistente; al suo interno, nell'abside, vi è il pregevole ciclo di affreschi di Filippo Lippi Storie della Vergine, dipinto negli ultimi anni di vita dell'artista, tra il maggio 1467 e il settembre 1469
Sulla destra dell’immagine il palazzo utilizzato nella fiction “Don Matteo” come sede del Comando Carabinieri ed alro.
Built between 1151 and 1227 in place of a pre-existing building; inside, in the apse, there is the valuable cycle of frescoes by Filippo Lippi Stories of the Virgin, painted in the last years of the artist's life, between May 1467 and September 1469
On the right of the image, the building used in the fiction "Don Matteo" as the seat of the Carabinieri Command and others.

La Sicilia non è solo mare-sole, ma è anche tante altre cose. Non solo panchine al sole, palme alte dieci metri, di carretti e barche di legno dipinto, ma anche di Barocco siciliano. Non è solo terra di arancini, di cannoli, ma anche di borghi antichi e città eleganti. Non è solo terra di fichi d'india, ma di un bel dialetto che è una "vera" Lingua, il siciliano non deriva dall'italiano, ma direttamente dal latino volgare, e costituì la prima lingua letteraria italiana, già nella prima metà del XIII secolo. La Sicilia non è solo Montalbano di Camilleri, ma anche terra di Verga, Pirandello, Buttitta, Sciascia, Quasimodo e anche di Guttuso e Archimede. Non è solo la terra dei "Pupi siciliani". Non è la terra della mafia ma di Falcone e Borsellino. La Sicilia è un super attico pieno di luce e sapori, con un terrazzo sul mare. È Storia. Architettura. Musica. Letteratura. ---- Cefalù è sovrastata da un'altura di 270 m., dal particolare profilo a forma di testa, che cade a picco sul mare. E' una piccola città di mare, con un pittoresco porticciolo dal quale si osserva il caratteristico fronte a mare della città murata, con gli archi che fanno da ricovero alle barche. "Cefalù: così all'improvviso appari, destando stupore. Così rimani, indelebile nel cuore e nella mente, curioso ed amabile capriccio di madre natura." Nino Testa.

Umbertide : The lower village with the 3 church and the square
The 3 churches are important, the first, Santa Croce, baroque from the 1600s, currently serves as an Art Gallery, with a painting by Luca Signorelli, the Deposition from the Cross, from 1516 and ceramics by Corrado Cagli.
The second is the fourteenth-century S. Francesco, with the former convent, now the municipal historical archive and the municipal library.
The third is S. Bernardino from 1400.
Le tre chiese sono importanti, la prima , S.Croce, barocca del 1600 , attualmente funge da pinacoteca ,con un dipinto di Luca Signorelli del 1516 e ceramiche di Corrado Cagli .
La seconda è la trecentesca chiesa di S.Francesco ,con l'ex-convento , ora Archivio storico Comunale e Biblioteca Comunale .
La terza è S.Bernardino del 1400 -.
Ognuno, guardando il mare tranquillo agli splendori del tramonto, o in limpido mattino, o in burrasca, è commosso; ma queste emozioni, l’arcana malinconia, la gioconda festa, la selvaggia sublime voluttà, i poeti hanno, naturalmente, senza paragone più degli altri uomini, sentito e dipinto, e i colori son stati varii, secondo l’indole speciale e la tempra del loro animo e del loro ingegno, il tempo in cui hanno vissuto, il tratto della loro vita in cui hanno scritto. Il National Covid Memorial Wall di Londra è un murale pubblico dipinto da volontari per commemorare le vittime della pandemia di COVID-19 nel Regno Unito. Iniziato nel marzo 2021 e che si estende per più di cinquecento metri lungo la riva sud del Tamigi, di fronte al Palazzo di Westminster, il murale è composto da circa 150.000 cuori rossi e rosa, con l'intenzione di averne uno per ciascuna delle vittime di COVID-19 nel Regno Unito al momento dell'inizio del murale. L'intento era che ogni cuore fosse "dipinto individualmente a mano; assolutamente unico, proprio come le persone care che abbiamo perso".
The National Covid Memorial Wall in London is a public mural painted by volunteers to commemorate victims of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. Started in March 2021 and stretching more than five hundred metres along the South Bank of the River Thames, opposite the Palace of Westminster, the mural consists of approximately 150,000 red and pink hearts, intending to have one for each of the casualties of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom at the time of the mural's commencement. The intent was for each heart to be "individually hand-painted; utterly unique, just like the loved ones we’ve lost".

Il dipinto era destinato alla devozione privata da camera, come suggeriscono le dimensioni e la semplicità dell'impianto narrativo. La figura della Vergine che accoglie l'annuncio dell'angelo, in piedi e con atteggiamento più sorpreso che devoto, ricorda l'analogo soggetto dipinto da Santi di Tito per S. Maria Novella. Opera tarda del pittore, che cerca di adeguare il suo stile ai tempi dimostrandosi allo stesso tempo attaccato alla tradizione, come attesta l'iscrizione
The painting was intended for private chamber devotion, as suggested by its size and the simplicity of the narrative layout. The figure of the Virgin welcoming the angel's announcement, standing with an attitude more surprised than devout, recalls the similar subject painted by Santi di Tito for S. Maria Novella. This is a late work by the painter, who tried to adapt his style to the times while at the same time proving himself attached to tradition, as the inscription attests
One of the perks of living in a multilingual country and having family descendant from all over Europe is that you get exposed to many languages and music styles. One of a annual ritual to watch in my family was the Eurovision Song Contest (or Grand Prix de la Chanson as it was called back then). And one the songs from the early years of that Contest was this song who later became internationally known all over the world and is a stereotypical Italian heritage. And my Nonno often hummed this cute song when he was doing his drawers. Most people know the song as 'Volare' and this is how it goes
