Those little holes you see were me in disbelief that the cake was really done more than 10 minutes before it was supposed to be done. "Surely this can't be!" I thought, and poked it a few more times with my Cake Tester (That is Not Alex).

Reflection of the morning light and fall leaves in the creek. Water flowing over a stone in the water caused the dimple.

During the first 8 days of March, I photographed Dimpled Trout Lily (Erythronium umbilicatum) at sites in three different states (GA, SC, NC). I saw this one in the Nine Times Forest and Preserve in Pickens County, South Carolina.
Wheel thrown, stoneware tumblers, dimpled by a gentle squeeze to each, glazes were layered to complete.

My Blythes are all still very much loved, but I just prefer photograhing resin better nowadays.
After a bunch of questions about my dimples, I decided that I should take out one of the ones that did not "pass inspection" and cut it to see what's doing. Actually, it looks pretty good and the wall thickness is very uniform all the way around the dimple. Editors Note: I cut the dimple at it's thinnest point.
