Detail of a shopping mall at Eindhoven, Netherlands. Truth be told, I did crank up the colour a bit, it was after all a very grey day :-)
This is my latest addition to my glass themed series.
A bit different to the others. The bottles are either clear or recycled glass with a green tinge. So not the high colours I usually have. My bathroom is so dark (due to the carport outside) I'm trying the less coloured bottles on the sill as they let more light in.
Added to Smile on Sunday 05-03-17 'Shadows' theme.

Last week, a storm dropped 5+ inches of snow in central Maine, before it changed over to rain in the afternoon. The temperature dropped back below freezing that night, and has remained below freezing since then.
So, driveways and walkways are icy and treacherous after the partial thaw/refreeze, and the fields have these "dimples" from where the waterlogged snow started to collapse before it refroze.
Mother Nature's creativity is limitless.

I tried to recreate the amazing light in my 'Go Green' shot with some of my blue bottles. But different time of year, different light, different tones and transparency of the blues = different results!
Taken for this weeks (02-09-17) Smile on Saturday 'Blue-tiful' theme.
And another one for my glass series :-)
I hope you all have lots of smiles this week, and plenty of laughs too :-D

The sun was very low in the sky and created some interesting shadows. Calgary is quite far north so early afternoon has the sun on the way down come the winter solstice.

Beautiful light when the setting sun was reflecting yellow off the white wall outside.

Alpine lakes are nature’s dimples — a whimsical depression in her flesh that invariably spark adoration in the viewer’s heart. When nature put on her fleeting smile after a gloomy afternoon the other day, the viewer — enthralled by the dimple’s beauty — was compelled to smile back in return.
BCC Treasure Hunt Architectural Detail - The landscape architecture of a golf course is a fine balance between considering the way in which the game controls how the golfer moves across the course whilst preserving and highlighting the natural features of the environment. The architect will look for the natural rough, the dunes, bunkers and the sweeping landscapes to determine its design. An architectural detail as simple as a dimple on the fairway adds to the pleasure of the game.
The Broad Museum, Los Angeles, USA
A large dimple along the front of the museum. Okay, the architects call it an “oculus”. The rest of the facade is largely opaque to keep any direct sunlight from reaching the galleries, leaving the openings in the skin relatively pinched.
For some reason, I just find it a brilliant idea of having an oculus in a building, which makes the building envelope pretty and breathable.
